I have a few colleagues who use Clarks desert boots with crepe soles. Seems to be ok.

I'd be more concerned about it being glued and not stitched.

I got mine at pediwear, recommended by the forumer here in this thread.
Their service is good, I just wished they had send it in double box smile.gif

I have a pair of Carmina stuck at customs now and DHL is requesting me to provide the GST registration number of my company (presumably because I put my office address as the shipping address). I don't think I want or should involve my company in this. Has anyone experienced this before?

Also, customs added on excise/import duties of about 2% on top of the 6% GST (so total tax/duty payable is about 8%). And DHL also charges RM 53 for duty processing. That totals up to RM 200... damn. I remember the last time I bought Carminas I got charged RM 130+ (no import duties).

I am new to dress shoes. I just bought a black Loake oxford shoes. How should I take care of it? Should I buy mink oil or the polish from bata? And the other day someone recommended this product from Germany. I need advice from sifu here. thanks

Brush before and after wear. Wipe with damp cloth if too dirty for just brushing. Cream every month or so to maintain the colour and slightly condition it(like the link you posted). Conditioner(mink oil, Saphir Renovateur, Bick4 etc) 1-2 times a year if you want, very very lightly.

Wax polish if you want your shoes to shine(like the one you get in Bata).

I use Saphir for almost everything but no problem to mix brands (cream, polish, conditioner).

I have bought a pair from WJ before.

Reasons for buying online:
Much bigger selection of shoes
Customised MTO
You can add on metal toe taps
Still cheaper than WJ even with taxes

WJ sells it for RM 1880. With the ringgit being in the dumps now it's actually quite close to the price online+GST, but generally I think it is still cheaper.
Including taxes mine would be around RM 1,750 and that includes shoe trees...

I am confused of 'brush before and after wear'. Do you mean using horse brush to dry brush it?

Yes. I keep a brush specifically for this near where I put on my shoes. I do it while my shoes are on my feet.

How much would you guys pay for a pair of designer loafers?

I saw a pair of calf skin loafers/moccassins from Louis Vuitton. Very nice, except that they cost around RM3200 per pair. They have the LV emblem at the front.

Is that considered too pricey to pay for a pair of loafers?

Is it the same as that LV sneakers that was posted in the Sneaker thread brows.gif brows.gif
