Hei guys, just got a pair of barker. Wanted a loake but the design I wanted all either discontinued or don't have size at p.lal
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Anyway, wanted to ask you guys, this pair have the smooth leather sole without any rubber to it Was told that I should only put rubber when the shoes break in and soften a bit then only put rubber. The rubber if put now will damage the sole because of the adhesion...is this true? And if yes.... Where to do I go then after the shoes break in? QUOTE(niakulah @ Aug 12 2014, 03:01 PM) New or not, the cobbler will have to roughen up the leather sole so that the glue sticks better. My understanding is the only reason not to do it when new is it increases break-in time(I could be wrong). i thought it is the sensible thing to do but after reading up some article about leather sole... i guess i wont be doing it since it will be my dress shoesWhy do you want to do it in the first place? I regret having to do it but I have no choice because of my work environment(sprawling campus, loose gravel roads). |

after getting my barker as my dress shoes last year, i can't seems to find a leather shoes as a work shoes. probably those hush puppies, clarks etc leather finishing is not really to my liking.
just gotten a pair of Florsheim with vibram sole at MOP with 30% discount on top of that RM 40 voucher on the spot and claim the shoe cream they got quite decent range there and the common size are available unlike in JPO- that is if you are into Florsheim as i know some shunt it This post has been edited by sebastianX11: Jun 11 2015, 11:51 AM |

QUOTE(Enigmatic @ Jul 7 2015, 02:17 AM) For some reason shoes in Malaysia do suffer from insane markup. I can only watch in envy those online seller selling it at a discounted priceE.g., I've bought a pair of Church's earlier this year from Europe and that went for a couple bucks above RM1k. Checked out the prices in Malaysia, and the same pair of shoes hit for nearly RM2k. Prices in Singapore's even more ridiculous. Going to snag another pair when I am in UK/Europe later this year. I have no confidence in buyin online for something I'm not able to try on. And the sizing and description is confusing |

QUOTE(niakulah @ Dec 19 2016, 12:28 PM) Brush before and after wear. Wipe with damp cloth if too dirty for just brushing. Cream every month or so to maintain the colour and slightly condition it(like the link you posted). Conditioner(mink oil, Saphir Renovateur, Bick4 etc) 1-2 times a year if you want, very very lightly. What's the cheapest way to get saphir? Can share? tried a lot but most don't send to Msia bcos of regulationWax polish if you want your shoes to shine(like the one you get in Bata). I use Saphir for almost everything but no problem to mix brands (cream, polish, conditioner). This post has been edited by sebastianX11: Dec 19 2016, 02:33 PM |

QUOTE(QuickFire @ Dec 22 2016, 11:27 AM) Wow.. Really nice!I noticed that usually the lace for leather shoes is such as the one on your Carminas. Is there any reason for it to lace in such way? This post has been edited by sebastianX11: Dec 22 2016, 05:22 PM |
