As funny as it may seems regarding the metal clunking "kok" sound, I guess its a sign that our cars is in need for some hardcore exhaust penetration lol.

could anyone list down the things i need to replace at 40k km service?
and if possible, also give me the best recommended item/brand..

my car going to service at 40k km soon

last time i service 4 20k km, need to pay rm600.
just change
fully synthetic oil
oil filter
spark plug
service charge is RM128

is that price reasonable or expensive?

by the way, i service at EON jalan kuala kangsar in ipoh.

Congrats, consider yourself just been robbed.

My Ah Beng does all the above for only costs of material plus maybe RM20 labour. Whole thing take maybe 20 minutes.

Estimated Material cost:

FS Oil - 200
Oil filter - 10
plugs - 16
labour - 20

Estimated RM246 only.

Problems and problems...but what the hack, for a complete car with RM60k and below...bear with it la...

1. The front metal clunking sound when turning on uneven ground, be it left or right - not solved.

2. The rattling sound at the air-cond blower - "glak...glak..." sound, not solved.

3. The ignition key hole light? YES, it is there - but no light.

4. The seatbelt warning indicator - not functioning, but hope it is, with a silent one.

5. FC? Fuiyoh...town-driving sucks, like water-drinking only...less than 320km full tank. But for Hi-way, fuiyoh again...about 450km full tank - SHELL supersavers la...

Other than that, I wub.gif my PERSONA SE...!!!

I have exactly the same problems.

I can confirm with my Ah Beng that it is not possible to install lights for the keyhole as there is no bracket for it. Perhaps other people may have better idea?

Careful of the Magnecrap thingy or they'll cheat you of your RM68.00! Bloody useless crap!

Yes you can bring your own oil. Don't believe the SCammers when they say that you have to accept their Petronas oil.

If warranty is critical to you, you have to go to Proton SCammer.

Bring your own oil
change oil, filter and plugs only. If not mistaken at 40000km only. Check your manual.

For the above, outside workshop will charge only 20 max for labour. If SCammer charge RM100+ for labour for the same thing, then the warranty is not worth the paper its printed on.

Don't do other things like alignment, car wash etc or the SCammer will charge you an arm and a leg.

Best is to ask for the labour charge 1st! Don't wait till you get the bill.

owh..molotov cocktail, Mobil Super S is same as Mobil Super 2000....mobil has change the packaging to Mobil Super 2000 for a new look.....either one is the same....no worries....=).....so hws the mobil semi syn so far???....lighter?? laugh.gif

add on: its not necessary to change gear oil at 1st service....maybe they chop you cause bring own oil, so they insist you to change gear oil to recover their lose.. brows.gif just to tell you honestly....avoid taking pakages where everything is included...just tell them the parts you want to change...

like 1st (1000km), 2nd (5000km), 3rd (10000km)....you only need to change:
1)engine oil
2)oil filter
3)spark plugs (10000km or 15000/20000km also can) (i change the first spark plug at around 20000km)
4)gear oil/atf fluid (20000km/30000km) depends on driving style hard or smooth
5)air filter (10000km/15000km)
6)coolant (every 15000km-25000km or 2years) try to use good coolant like "caltex long life and toyota long life"
7)others (depend tear and wear) rclxms.gif

hope this helps...even you know d... whistling.gif

Why do you need to change the gear oil in your 1st service? Did they just do it or did you ask them to do it?

really? no need to change gear oil at first service, i think i've read it somewhere that for a manual car for the first service need to change engine oil, filter n gear oil, for the mobile super s i feel lighter acceleration but the pickup as slow as before changing the oil, fyi i use caltex petrol, plan to try bhp next, as i need the pickup to overtake, currently the pickup doesnt satisfy me, some people say go for mobil petrol for pickup, maybe i'll give a try later

I see people recommend Mobil Super 2000, but I can only find 10W-40, the booklet says we need 20W-50 to keep the warranty, is 10W-40 better than 20W-50? I assume the higher/lower the upper/lower number the better so 10W is better than 20W, but 40 is lower than 50.

Can someone confirm if Manual Gear Oil is required to be changed in the 1st service?

Also I have coupons for services (1k, 5k, 10k etc), does it mean free labour during services?

Also Molotov did they overfill the engine oil as we require 3.7l, mobil comes in 4l, did they give you back the leftovers?

Note: the W (weather) is for the cold start. The max is the temperature before the oil start to break in molecular level.

Manual gear oil no need to change

Yes, free labour for 1k, 5k + 19k servies, provided you don't fall for their famous scams like X1R, magnecrap, car engine wash.

Yes, they always overfill the engine oil. Make sure you pour out a bit, say 0.5 lt then give the remainder for them to fill. Do not trust them not to overfill. Overfilling can damage your engine.

100% NO!

Nothing is accurate in the Persona. They can;t even install the meter cluster properly at the centre. Mine is off center.
