Can someone enlighten us how is the sound system of Persona for M-Line and above? What brand is the headunit? Does it support Aux in, or the support is there just not connected? How are the speakers?

So can you guys compile a list of what we shouldn't accept when we service our cars to avoid paying our money unecessarily? Or if we follow the service book all is ok?

Also what are the stuffs you guys recommend we buy ourselve and bring to service centre? Care to share what brand/model?

Be prudent when you send in your car to Proton SC as they will slap you with a lot of hidden charges!

So do we have to use Proton's parts or can some of the below mentioned be purchased ourselves, as I believe like Engine Oil it would be cheaper, but what brand and type of oil? I hear 3rd party filter will void warranty, what about better spark plugs?

What about Manual Transmissions? Do I need fluids?

QUOTE(2fast2furious @ Sep 12 2009, 07:53 AM)
From my many years of experience in driving and owning a new car before....

-  Engine oil
-  Oil filter
-  ATF oil (for auto obviously)
-  Brake oil
-  Radiator coolant
-  Power steering oil (very rarely to change)
-  Air filter
-  Spark plugs

The above is all there is to it. Nothing more. Yes they will push you to buy oil treatment etc etc etc to suck ur  moneyflies.gif . Just say no.  flex.gif

Am considering normal clutch lock club & installation type clutch lock, would like to know which one is better?

Do normal clutch/brake lock compatible on personas, I saw 1 selling at rm129? The installation type is double the price but don't need to remove just use the key to unlock.

Hi guys. Please assist me in telling me what rim size and tire series is this. I am looking for this look. Some said is 16 inch rims with 50 series tires.

This looks more like 15", the wheels don't look that big and the tyres aren't that low profile.

Actually if you use a ruler you can roughly scale the size of the wheels...

I see people recommend Mobil Super 2000, but I can only find 10W-40, the booklet says we need 20W-50 to keep the warranty, is 10W-40 better than 20W-50? I assume the higher/lower the upper/lower number the better so 10W is better than 20W, but 40 is lower than 50.

Can someone confirm if Manual Gear Oil is required to be changed in the 1st service?

Also I have coupons for services (1k, 5k, 10k etc), does it mean free labour during services?

Also Molotov did they overfill the engine oil as we require 3.7l, mobil comes in 4l, did they give you back the leftovers?

I only hear the kok sound when i'm going over a hump with steering to the right (haven't tried left) while going down into underground carpark. If it's the same noise I would assume it gotta do with something near the suspension?

BTW since there are so many Proton users here, why not consolodate a list of service centres & their reviews?

Maybe u can have someone stand outside and try to hear where the sound coming from when turn right on uneven surface.

Can post pic about the hose the will rub against throttle body wiring holder? How you DIY it? I'm going for 1st maintenance can get SC to DIY?

Can someone press their rear boot and see if the metal will sink in when you press it? Mine is solid on the left part but right part the metal sink in when i apply abit of pressure.

What is the range of our alarm sensor? Seems I need to be really close to unlock the doors.

Also is the pickup slower than kelisa? Seems I always slower than those Saga Taxi & Kelisa on 1st gear.

QUOTE(2fast2furious @ Oct 20 2009, 05:05 PM)
Side note: Those driving IAFM models take note. The engine breather hose on the right side (you facing the engine). This hose apparently will rub badly against the throttle body electrical wiring plastic holder. Mine less than 3k mileage already got cut quite badly on its surface of the rubber hose. I have DIY padded it to avoid further damages.

I have told the SC not to overfill, would like to know if the oil mark is at the upper triangle (max), is it considered overfilled/barely overfilled?

I convice them to have 3.75L though they intially said needed 4L and say will return the leftovers, I don't care about the leftovers but want to know if the upper triangle means they poured in 4L?

If ACE hardware shop sell it better coz i dunno how to buy from aircon service shops...

Regarding the water pump for windshield, i think something blocked the pipe, just need to use the spanar & do a quick adjustment.

If metal i just worry the heat transfer will concentrate on the rubber hose instead. Also worry it might damage the other part rubbing the hose.

I'm thinking those used on top of the engine bay to insulate noise might be good but no idea where to get them. They are soft so pretty easy to shape.

The manual knob if your car still under warranty can make a claim. I plan to keep the stock even if i swap the knob, and no it has no leather parts, only hard plastic & steering type plastic.

Question:

Anybody notice the fuel meter will drop much faster in when 1/4 point compared to half tank etc?
