btw, i just realised last night from reading the user manual. Persona's AT is Invecs II???
Invecs is from Mitsubishi right? I thought Proton claimed since the Waja they are using their own stuffs? The engine is purely malaysian designed and made or what? Got follow any Mitsu engines or not??? |

btw guys,
I am driving B-Line. Does the player support mp3? And where is the Aux? Another thing, how come it does not have seat belt warning light? Oh oh.... remember i said there was this "nyek nyek" sound at my right hand rear door??? I know what it was and it was solved by means of DIY. It was the sound of the door rubbers. What i did was i spray armor oil all over it and wiped it... So it leaves a little oily residue and makes it non squeaky. And for the Persona fuel lid, i find that it swings too far that sometimes it touches the car body causing scratches. Mine got paint chipped a bit. So i did was hv it adjusted by P1. But still its way too close for comfort. So i DIY added a rubber stopper wedged in between the hinges so it sorta limits the travel. It works super nice now. Even H line do not have that light? I wonder what are those indicators for in the first place hahaha....A: B-line does not support MP3, ONLY M & H line.....there is no AUX. Another thing, how come it does not have seat belt warning light? A: Even for the H-line it does not blink when seat belts are buckle-up. its just for "show" |

QUOTE(advocado @ Sep 12 2009, 01:34 AM) So can you guys compile a list of what we shouldn't accept when we service our cars to avoid paying our money unecessarily? Or if we follow the service book all is ok? From my many years of experience in driving and owning a new car before.... Also what are the stuffs you guys recommend we buy ourselve and bring to service centre? Care to share what brand/model? - Engine oil - Oil filter - ATF oil (for auto obviously) - Brake oil - Radiator coolant - Power steering oil (very rarely to change) - Air filter - Spark plugs The above is all there is to it. Nothing more. Yes they will push you to buy oil treatment etc etc etc to suck ur This post has been edited by 2fast2furious: Sep 12 2009, 09:53 AM |

QUOTE(heavencloud @ Sep 12 2009, 10:07 AM) Just got back form the sc repairing my iafm. it turned out they need to cut a bit part of the iafm, then the sound is no more. I asked the mechanic, he said by default the factory assembled the wrong size of one part in iafm. So basically, each persona owner should be screwed Whoa. really? any more photos of which you took to see more clearly? Care to explain more in details dude?[attachmentid=1192586] The iafm i think. forgot to take the part he modified So far most of my problems are no more, except for the infamous metal-hitting on the right front tire. |

30 too light for the engine? cuz i seriously would like to use lighter oils. the oil proton using is too thick. if not mistaken its 50 rite?
fully synthetic or not, no matter what, a lighter oil is always resulting in a nicer better drive. |

I compiled a list for P1 SC to rectify.
I wonder if they will be Compared to my previous car (MyVi auto) this list of problems are not as serious. My MyVi had serious problems like disc brake warped, steering rack noise... I think i claimed like 10k worth of parts including a massive gearbox leak.... TWICE. This post has been edited by 2fast2furious: Sep 14 2009, 11:51 AM |

QUOTE(wild_card_my @ Sep 15 2009, 07:48 AM) guys, how is persona quality? rosak here and there or not? sigh... takut la if need to buyproton erm... based on my experience with myvi (almost 4 years of ownership) i would say persona's built and ride is far far better. and what is IAFM? tried googling to no avail coming from a anti-proton guy... sad to say that Perodua's QC has gone down a lot.... its like they switched places with Proton. |

Btw, forumers who said that P1 always pour the whole blardy 4L of oil into the engine and saying that because the engine takes in whole 4L and it became overfilled...
I kenak myself during my first service!! I was about to say don't overfill when i was on the phone....i saw the whole bottle 4L being poured in.. I asked... why whole bottle? He said all Campro engines takes in whole 4L. Ok fine. What ever. Reached home i checked the manual.....it didnt even state 4L engine oil requirement. Its like around 3.7 litres if not mistaken. So in the morning before i started my engine i checked the oil level. It is ALMOST 1cm above the Max level mark!!!!!!!!!! Now that is overfill!!! Mad, drove out to hunt for a workshop since its first day of raya. Drained out quite a bit..... Wasted oil man.... The next round i am soo gonna be on their ass to make sure no overfill.... Oh, i am using Shell HX7. Nice and light oil. I love light oils.... it drives much much better. Btw, can Persona engine except 30 weight oil??? BUGGERS. QUOTE(stanley984 @ Sep 28 2009, 12:28 PM) how much do you get it? does it improve the performance overall? U means should told them not to fill till 4Littre of oil? Shell HX7 i got it for RM98.00Lighter oils are always better resulting in better performance. During my first service i was shocked to see the mech poured the whole 4L into the engine. He told me that it requires whole 4L. End of the day i checked the engine oil level after its parked for a long time, meaning all oils are down into the pan... i was shocked to find that the level was well above the MAX mark. I drove to the nearest mechanic shop to have it drained.......SUCH A WASTE. Perodua SC all also the same. |
