Ori set = SIS set? 2 Years warranty..= rm 2399 Everywhere? ... n AP set 1 year warranty= rm 1.8-2k ....

Is tat the only difference between ORI n AP set? warranty n price only. sorry im not very familiar with buying hp terms.

Yup, ori=SiS set, with 2 years warranty from SiS.

If u ask only in Mid Valley, yup, all is RM2399, firm, but if u go lowyat, there are shops selling as low as RM2250 (with 4GB SD iinm) the last i asked.

AP is not warranty by SiS (the only authorised distributor), so the risk is in a way higher, as in if u have prob with your unit, you can't get immediate service or help, unless the phone shop is willing to give speedy help.
And, if there's any prob, u need to take back to the shop, and the shop will either fix it themselves, or send it back to the AP importer/distributor for repair. Bear in mind that AP repairs may or may not use genuine parts.

These are the main difference, while another thing is the reselling value. Trading in value of ori set is higher than AP sets.

I got a 8GB MicroSD with my Hero though.

Unless you're also very good at repairing PDA phones yourself (Or don't mind trying to do it), getting an AP set shouldn't be a problem. And also, even though the original phones are covered with warranty and service, it takes time for them to actually repair it, etc, so be prepared to spend time and have a spare phone ready in case of anything. It's not always speedy.

Make sure the scene is completely static before you try to remove a widget. This is true especially after swiping from one home to another.

but i have some other issue after reflashing new rom to modaco 2.8 customrom-core-chinese

There are some issues i found with the new rom:

1. it seems i cant connect to the mobile network after flashing the new rom.
and the mobile network indicator is not showing afterward.
i tried to re-select the Network operator.
but still the same.

any similar issue before?

Added on November 22, 2009, 5:41 pmI found out the problem.
it's becoz of the APN setting.

in previous rom, the APN was set,
thus i can online without touching them.
new rom i have to add new APN for the connection.
it's OK now!

but i still have some question on how to send bluetooth file with other phone.

and my video recorder can onli record for 1 sec.
and it will automatically stop recording.
any hints?

I have no problem on MCR 2.9c. Try reset your settings and reboot your Hero. Make sure you have a working sdcard and have it inserted properly.



I did a quick test. It was running 1 minute 23 secs when I took the screen shot.

Haha... actually my recorder got no issue.
juz my stupid hand go and hold the track ball when recording.(i thought is a must).
That's the reason why the recorder straight away end when started.

Im sorry if this is not the correct place to ask. I will be getting my Hero today. I book the phone from shop in Shah Alam.(i select this shop because they take trade-in my phone quite high) Just now, the shop call me saying there is no Ori (SiS) stock at the moment. so I have to settled with AP set from PDA Gadget. So before i confirmed with the shop, need u guys expert opinion. Is PDA Gadget a reliable company?.

Phone warranty 1 year but the lcd is only 1month. Is there any other users buy Hero set from PDA Gadget.. just want to have a piece of mind before starting new adventure with android OS.

Thanks for your reply. I always prefer buying ori set but this time around, the shop cant get me the ori SiS set. Survey around Lowyat quote me with the price around the same, but the value for trade-in my old phone is too low.

Will go to the shop later today after work. Is there any service code, or settings that i need to check before purchasing the phone. this is the first time i will be using HTC product. Im more familiar with WinMo and Symbian.

1. found a 2nd hand set - 1650 --pda gadget --10 months warranty , but only come with charger / usb cable /4g sdcard

2. ori from SIS new - 2250 LYP --anyone can tell what accessories come with ?
