I wonder is this hero bulky?
becoz from the curvy design and it seems the phone is not slim enough for us to keep in the pocket...

kindly give me some suggestion, becoz i'm looking in this phone.
And are u guys get it from celcom that come with the 148 package?

Thank you very much.

You might want to directly ask Celcom/Maxis/DiGi is you wanted to know about data plan & rates. I believe that's the best way to educate ourself about those things.

naTTan,

I removed (according to Paul's features list):
1. Jbed Java
2. Notes app from Dragon
3. android-wifi-tether 1.60 pre3
4. Andrew Schwimmer's WiFi Status indicator

All HTC default apps are intact. I might go another round and replace Peep with TwitterRide. Mostly because Peep's bland interface and icon.

Edit: OK I removed Peep completely by adb shell rm /system/app/*Twit* as suggested by Paul.

Update: OK this maybe just a placebo. I feel my Hero is faster without Peep and its widget. And I saw this

guess what, i did call them before i post here.
but they themselves also cant let me know clearly.
thus, im asking any user here have this experience.

that's the most worried thing with celcom is their staff that working in both blue cube and celcom are really not in standard. sweat.gif

I went to ask the Digi Broadband Unlimited plan rm 48 a month.. + rm 30 postpaid voicecall.. rm 78 a month.. sounds much much cheaper than celcom/maxis right..

guess i'll go for it.. hope the connection is good.. Now just trying to look for Hero.. hope can join u guys soon.

i check with both digi and celcom,
Digi offer digi50 plan and HTC phone is onli HTC touch dual for 699 ori price is 1099
no other data plan needed.

for celcom,
they have alot of HTC phone with blue cube.
including hero for 1799.

but need to sign the contract for exec 50 + data plan for 98.
the worst thing is the data plan(braodband).

i ask celcom but they are not telling clearly.
might need to call blue cube and check whether can exclude the data plan and still get the phone for promotion price or not.

Make sure the scene is completely static before you try to remove a widget. This is true especially after swiping from one home to another.

it's ok now.
but i have some other issue after reflashing new rom to modaco 2.8 customrom-core-chinese

There are some issues i found with the new rom:

1. it seems i cant connect to the mobile network after flashing the new rom.
and the mobile network indicator is not showing afterward.
i tried to re-select the Network operator.
but still the same.

any similar issue before? notworthy.gif

Added on November 22, 2009, 5:41 pmI found out the problem.
it's becoz of the APN setting.

in previous rom, the APN was set,
thus i can online without touching them.
new rom i have to add new APN for the connection.
it's OK now!

but i still have some question on how to send bluetooth file with other phone.

and my video recorder can onli record for 1 sec.
and it will automatically stop recording.
any hints?

Thanks thanks

Haha... actually my recorder got no issue.
juz my stupid hand go and hold the track ball when recording.(i thought is a must).
That's the reason why the recorder straight away end when started.

really noob in this.

Everyone here is encouraging SIS warranty.
thus i also get from there. juz to prevent any unhappy experience.
If you can get the trade in price by doing online bidding in the garage sales.
why don you get the SIS set?
What's the offer for SIS and AP set?

did you turn on any thing for example wifi or mobile network(3g)
playing alot with the media files?

mine last for 2 days if juz phone call plus on and off some media files playing.

with wifi on, i could only last for 1 day. how could i stop the scanning once it's connected to 1 AP.(save battery)

hi masskiller,

u might tell us what's the problem that they are saying in the web.
as this is the topic for the hero, all hero users will able to provide feedback.

some of the forum is getting some spam from the iphone fan boys.

i myself haven't try on the new Custom Rom MCR3.0 which are claimed to be faster and smoother than the old version by some forumer here. They are very happy with it!

Furthermore the new HTC sense 2.1 is coming very soon for us to upgrade our phone. This is really an exciting news for most users but so far no review available yet.

From the experience i have with this phone, Yes, the touch might not be as smooth as my fren iphone 3GS. but i'm running on MCR2.8. it's acceptable and doesn't causing much issue. If you are a heavy gamer, i think u should go for iphone instead of Hero. because iPhone should have more application at the moment. But who knows in the future what will happend. I believe Iphone do have it's own problem and i would say both phone would have pros and cons.

I will try out the new MCR3.0 and provide some feedback later. For now, need to wait for the others comment.
