Err no. 4-5 times a week. I workout at home. I didn't mean it literally, as a comparison with typing out the answers to all ur questions, might as well go see someone do it, which is easier.

Good luck.

Hey good luck! Seriously.

I did 4 sets of 4 back squats today with a different technique. High bar and narrow stance (exactly shoulder width) to put more emphasis on my quads. Bloody creepers left my leg wobbly alright. Then I tried to squat 180KG after those sets, and got pinned like a bloody pancake.

Overcompensation, probably due to tight tissues.

Your lower back gets taxed , that shows that you need more back muscle

any idea how to fix it myself?
massage?

i read somewhere there is a decompress of the lower back after heavy squat and deadlift. hanging from the bar like pull up, hold your breath for 5 s, and slowly breathing and release your muscle and hang it as long as you can up to 60s, but i can only manage for around 20s, using strap will hurt like hell

Eventually i did Bench Press (hope this time wont be f**k), please tell me i chose the right work out.

Realise that it was not as easy as what i tot. Initially the bar was with 10kg (can someone tell me what is the round thing call in eng). Felt it was too heavy, when i tried doing it. Immediately got up threw all the weight away, as i read from the internet, start with just empty bar to understand the tactic.

Did with empty bar for 15 times, and 5 kg (both side 10kg) for 30 times. It was so difficult to handle. My hands movement were not equal. Sometimes my left was a little bit high, and vice versa. Trying very hard to control the balancing. Even when put it back, very difficult. There were a few times, i put back at the wrong level, idiot me. also did not know how big the gap between my arm was. was just doing in blinds.

Why is it so hard for balancing? Normally with chair, i could do at least 20+kg why was it when i used the bar, only could do 10 kg?
my wrist was painful.

After that, i did not do others as even chest press, in my opinion the easiest, yet i could not do it.

So did bicep curl using bar (i know this time sure wil kena). I put 12.5kg each. Did for 50 times. Same, I wanna know hor, why with chair i could do more?

I did what lat pull (dono what exactly the name is). Put 20 and increased to 30kg. Love seeing myself in the mirror at that time, cz my biceps were damn obvious :$

So i learn a lesson, and i wil never go to the bz gym anymore. Today, i did not have to wait for my turn. hehe.

happy happy (now reading article to understand more on chest press).

Video tape (from the back, sides, etc) yourself squatting and check the form. I used to squat with the hips senget (not noticable unless someone looks for the senget-ness) to one side. And I can feel the one side of my lower back more sore.

It was because my right side was stronger, so I was leaning to that side.

Heh heh, now you know leh?
It is because when using the machine, all you had to do was push. No matter how or which direction, just push. So it's easy-peasy.
For the bench press, you had to balance the bar. It takes lots of other small muscle groups to balance the bar. So it is tough work, compared to just pushing blindly.
[ I would ask you to stop using any machines because I personally feel they are only some what useful for physiotherapy. But this is merely my personal opinion. And I would suggest that you follow the Stronglift 5x5 programme, since now you're just bumming around the gym trying this and that. ]

(Oh, that long 7 foot Olympic bar should be 20kg. Unless you're using some other shorter/smaller bar.)

No idea what the heck you are trying to achieve by doing 30 times. You doing a bench press marathon?

my body tell me that was not a reason=.=
it was either my abs too weak to reinforce it and rely too much on the back or like below said

Just started last wed to do the stronglift 5x5.
Yesterday was aching all over after Workout A lol.
That also just managed to do 3 1/2 out of 5 exercises.
Hmmm, so using a barbell is better than using the machine...only problem is that the uni gym is full of people using literally everything all the time...darn...so i just resorted to using the machine. (everybody wants the barbell)...

Also used dumbbells for the squats (just to try out for now). two on each side. Is it much less effective or is it an ok replacement for the barbell?
I foresee problems in using equipment in the near future...sigh...

dumbell can never substitute barbell in squat.
can you holding more than 50pound db bothside to do squat?
and the range of motion is totally different.
