QUOTE(Mypalm @ Oct 5 2009, 02:05 PM) As I am not high end user, most of my files are not HD quality. Have a lot of avi files - I have tried on 2 HD file (720p and 1080p) mkv file. Love it on the 50inch plasma. But they are cartoons so usually look good. Will try on a movie once I get it. - Also tried DVD iso. Quite good as well. - avi file are also acceptable like cheap pasar malam DVD All the above are about picture quality. I have not tried sound quality as I did not attach to my old amp. I am currently using hdmi to my plasma tv. In process of transfering file from NAS to POHD thru USB. Very slow process. fast ethernet = 10-12mbps even usb speed faster = 20-22mbps.

Actually transferring using a PC connected to NAS thru Gigabit line and to POHD using USB i.e. using PC as the midpoint so transfer speed still limited by ethernet.

Why so much different in pricing yet someone can buy for like RM600 only?

Well, price battling among them i guess. You sure Viewnet RM630 still got stock? You should tell C-Zone people that Viewnet is only selling for RM630 and ask them to beat that price or match it.

finish review on a Himedia HD300D - supposely using the realtek 1073 chip (same as the Acryan) - if mod thinks its not appropriate to put it here because its not ACryan just tell me..just that the player plays BDMV bluray rips with out the fancy bluray menus but their own menu. And some people might want to see how it works. click here (still a bit of cleaning up to do) Himedia HD300D Review

Last Sunday, my brother in law bought a POHD at Viewnet for RM650 plus Samsung 1.5TB for RM334 . Seeing that the price is quite ok, we didnt nego too much.. So i guess the price shud be lower than RM650 if you know the salesperson well..

ACRyan can't play BDMV at all. U need to manually go inside the stream folder and select the M2TS file to play.
I suspect the Ver2 firmware will make it comparable to the HiMedia in terms of playing BDMV.

HD Audio bitstream I won't be surprised if the HiMedia can do it now. Hence my original remark, China = GENG!!!
