Hi Guys, I have info that A.C.Ryan will be stock in Low Yat C-Zone and Viewnet by 4th week of this month. Price about same as bro chewkl, RM610+10%. Local support and not need worry about custom tax. Cheaper then Advance Tech.

Hi Guys, read this from Hi-Jack, mpcclub, regarding new M6600:

Feel it's ok the player is more expensive than the usual RRK based players (yuou will see why when you get it) but double that amount is a bit much... We hope eventually the prices will drop somwhere to MAX €249 (which is what we recommend officially to do)...

Display
Big Cooler
Fully tuned interfaced
NFS + SMB (and both work as well

The 6600 will be more mature than the players we have seen so far on the same chip. They are kind of ina luxury position as the 6500 can do BD and does all the other forumat so they are not in a hurry like the others...

We'll see.... Although not fully stable on all parts, (we have fully reviewed the unit already and just wait with the release following updates until the player is officially released), it will be the best realtek based player so far (not the most affordable though).

Hopefully DViCo will bring down the price a little as it needs that to be competitive.

Is it because of this, uncle chewkl want to sell away his PlayOn!HD? hmm.gif

ordered this from Singapore. Now the device is in Malaysia already but stuck at customs, reason No SIRIM certificate for it. have to apply for it.
*
Hi Guys, try not to order player from outside Malaysia thru internet because you will get into problem when they send to you. It is not because the money but the time you have to spend. according to custom law, this player is subjected to 35% + 5% tax rclxub.gif . Uncle chewkl is lucky, pay 10% only.

DTS downmix works out of the box for 1073DD chip lah...
*
Your mean PlayOn!HD still no DTS downmix? Because it uses Realtek 1283 chip. But TViX M6600A already got DTS downmix. Too bad. Just bought 1 M6600A from C-zone, quality is fantastic. Will buy PlayOn next week at The Hub also to compare.

*
6600A and 6600N both use Realtek 1283. A is budget and N with built in card reader and wireless N and AVC HD Camcorder with navigator enable. other function all same. I hv A and it works perfectly and look elegant.

C200 come without Bluray ROM. I heard it got bluray region problem also. Some how sigma SDK support really poor. That is why realtek come up and overtake sigma in the market now. So, sigma need to prove that they can support well or it may die just like that. Now, C200 and HDI 3.0 use the latest 8642/3 only. Not a good sign.

QUOTE(ar188 @ Sep 23 2009, 01:31 PM)
anyway, what's wrong with 8642/3? u mean lousier than realtek izzit?

have you tried a Dune 1.0 before?
have you tried DVICO 6500 before

all uses sigma designs running at only 300MHz.. also can play BD-ISO/BDMV with Java (dune) and basic BDMV (6500 with BD-lite)

realtek can't even bitstream lossless audio now (have to wait for SDK 2.0 as per chew's comment) let alone read BD-ISO.. or play Java.. you think any hope to be a BD media streamer (high end requirement)? at best it's just a mid range RMVB+MKV player..

new Sigma designs 8642/3 and 55 chipset is 500-667MHZ.. that's roughtly twice as powerful as before...
*
Nothing wrong with sigma. what i mean is sigma fully support on Bluray player manufacturer but respond slow for the DMP manufacturers. That is why Dvico came out with their own RFX to decode and debug the problem they face. But this cause their firmware update slow and blame by consumers.

Don't think that Realtek made in Taiwan is bad. Actually they are coming up becuase of sigma given the chances, the poor support on SDK for DMP manufacturers. I have tested 6600A and the output colour as good as 8635. Even my AV installer confirmed that. Btw, until now, for colour handling, TViX still the best among other media players. I think because of their firmware developed. The start time 28 seconds only compare with 6500 take about 1 minute 20 seconds. Flash RAM 1283 is 128MB and dvico can write more compare with 8635 64MB flash RAM.

pls take note that 8655 is lower end then 8642/3, even 1283. Don't be confuse.

If sigma cannot fast respond on SDK, so what for 8642/3? Can't u see that C200 suppose to be launched on end of July but until now.... sweat.gif

It seems that C200 very very busy to catch the bugs now. Don't know how soon or long long way to go. whistling.gif Time will tell.

Added on September 23, 2009, 7:23 pmthanks to reading the mpcclub forum on the dvico, 6600 got no gigabit lan.. so how to play BDMV smoothly via network?? wah?? 100/10 or 11n can meh?
*
This is due to 1283 limitation. u don't know meh??? doh.gif Xtreamer and PlayOn!HD also same, 10/100. But 6500 also play BD-Lite without problem thru 10/100 (6500 is 10/100). Actually I tested with 2 6600 access simultaneously into Thecus NAS N0503 playing a same very high-bitrate (about 40Mbps) file together without any stutter. Fantastic. heard Dvico promised to develop BD-lite in 6600 also and can handle even better then 6500 becuase Flash RAM is double up. We will see... brows.gif

If you use USB to copy, 1G will take 1 minute, roughly. So, 100G will take about 1 hour 40 minutes. If you use eSATA, the speed will be double or trible.
