anyway, what's wrong with 8642/3? u mean lousier than realtek izzit?
have you tried a Dune 1.0 before?
have you tried DVICO 6500 before
all uses sigma designs running at only 300MHz.. also can play BD-ISO/BDMV with Java (dune) and basic BDMV (6500 with BD-lite)
realtek can't even bitstream lossless audio now (have to wait for SDK 2.0 as per chew's comment) let alone read BD-ISO.. or play Java.. you think any hope to be a BD media streamer (high end requirement)? at best it's just a mid range RMVB+MKV player..
new Sigma designs 8642/3 and 55 chipset is 500-667MHZ.. that's roughtly twice as powerful as before...
Nothing wrong with sigma. what i mean is sigma fully support on Bluray player manufacturer but respond slow for the DMP manufacturers. That is why Dvico came out with their own RFX to decode and debug the problem they face. But this cause their firmware update slow and blame by consumers.
Don't think that Realtek made in Taiwan is bad. Actually they are coming up becuase of sigma given the chances, the poor support on SDK for DMP manufacturers. I have tested 6600A and the output colour as good as 8635. Even my AV installer confirmed that. Btw, until now, for colour handling, TViX still the best among other media players. I think because of their firmware developed. The start time 28 seconds only compare with 6500 take about 1 minute 20 seconds. Flash RAM 1283 is 128MB and dvico can write more compare with 8635 64MB flash RAM.
pls take note that 8655 is lower end then 8642/3, even 1283. Don't be confuse.
If sigma cannot fast respond on SDK, so what for 8642/3? Can't u see that C200 suppose to be launched on end of July but until now....
