Anyone have any experience or info on the above? According to 1 of the forum posts in ACRyan, their staff mentioned the below: http://www.acryan.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=40&t=895For us, the PlayOn!HD is better than the Xtreamer for some reasons : - 24p mode is working as well (not on Xtreamer right now) - M2TS play well (not on Xtreamer right now) - support 2TB HDD (500GB max on Xtreamer) - Subtitles are playing well (not for all on Xtreamer) - BD ISO will be played on PlayOn!HD (not actualy on Xtreamer) - Card reader (not on Xtreamer) Damn if this thing is as good as it sounds, I'm sold! I bit the bullet and ordered from Singapore store. Total price was SGD242.65 (after PayPal conversion RM611.25) including shipping to Malaysia. Hopefully the ketam dun kacau... Anyways, it's all out of stock from ACRyan themselves and in SG stores. Mine will only ship in early August. I doubt U can find it in Malaysia shops as of now.

QUOTE(azbro @ Jul 24 2009, 09:14 AM) So far as I know, hdd is never included in the package.... Expect to spend an addition RM300~400 for a hardisk and proper docker It supports internal 3.5" SATA HDD. (And is highly recommended)

I think the only reason to go for this instead of the Xtreamer is the *promised* BD ISO support. I think it is also very likely the Xtreamer will support this in the future, if they want to be competitive. The Xtreamer looks like good value, esp with the free Wifi antenna.

I've already ordered and paid. Now awaiting delivery... Snippet from 1080p MKV playback: The first movie I tested was an old favourite of mine, The Fifth Element Re-mastered 1080p.mkv, this movie has an excellent section which seriously tests contrast, colour saturation, lag, ‘Jaggies’ and bit rate handling. It’s the part where the 5th element steps out onto the ledge, looks down on the flying highway and then the drops into Bruce’s taxi cab. Just that section alone can expose a multitude of sins on a weak player, and the pursuit and chase after she lands can even make the most respected player melt its solder points from the processor heat. Running at Full 1080p/24, 30Mbps and a bit rate of 1509 kbps, it sure did put this player through its paces. However, the colours held true and the contrast had the deepness I would expect without any adjustment to the panel settings. I could see no motion lag, stutter, ‘Jaggies’, blocking, micro blocking, colour bleed or anything else that would have made me think that I wasn’t actually running the original from disc, rather than a backup I made streaming across my LAN.And here's a from the section on BDMV playback: It was time now to move onto another format, a straight blu-ray dump of Quantum of Solace in its original directory structure and with Full HD audio sound streams as well. The file format for blu-ray dumps is .m2ts and on occasions I have seen a few players struggle with this format, though of late this is becoming less frequent. Upon loading the file, the Dolby TrueHD light lit up on my receiver and upon checking the info screen displayed by the player, it stated that it was using the said format. Again the player had no issues with video reproduction and was running in the correct format of /24 - which is the way I like it. I could clearly hear the 6th and 7th speaker kick in and become part of the surround, so thumbs up here! Video playback was smooth and performed as well, if not better than a player twice its price. It handled the 38 Mbps frame rate and 768 kbps bit rate effortlessly.

QUOTE(kelvinsin @ Aug 7 2009, 03:18 PM) This player is unable to downmix the DTS to stereo right? Then for the users who did not own a DTS decoded amp mean cant hear the sound when playback the movie with DTS audio??? >_< Seriously, if U wanna buy a FULLHD capable player but only wanna use the TV and no amp, might as well don't use it lah. But then again, DTS downmix confirmed coming on 15 Aug firmware update.

Bro Barry, the player does not support BDMV or BD ISO as of now. It is a *promised* feature in upcoming firmware.
It does support RMVB up to 720p. Internal HDD is 3.5" type but is not included. It can support up to 2TB size.
The next firmware release will be on Aug 15 which will downmix DTS to stereo. Right now it can only pass-through.
If not mistaken U are the same Taikor Barry from Penang that recommended me to AVE in Chai Leng Park back in 06 right?
