QUOTE(barry @ Aug 17 2009, 11:06 AM) No la, Coffee. My brother brought it back for me when he drove in from Spore on Saturday. I have not flown in and out of Spore for a very long time. do let us know your review comparative to Dvico on AQ ( stereo too) and PQNow, a little FR on the unit over a few hours yesterday evening, displaying it on my Panny 50" plasma (50v80h). Very easy to set it up - HDMI into the TV no problem at all. Audio came out from 1 of the 2 coax outputs, leaving me with a spare coax and a optical toslink - no problem with my old Pioneer AV-Amp for DTS and AC-3 digital signals. The picture, however needed a lot of adjustments. I don't have any tools, except by my 'butt-o-meter' based upon the earlier setting done by htkaki (using VDE) but nothing done on the colours. I am still not very happy with the colours and brightness/contrast so I shall need help, hoping that htkaki will be able to help out. The GUI is very easy to use, although I have yet to try out all the features. I am not sure how useful the wireless streaming will be, and I have yet to stick in a hard-disk. I have a bunch of FLAC files and plan to rip all my CDs into this format so this baby will become my main media player. thanks |

QUOTE(barry @ Aug 19 2009, 09:59 AM) moomoos, no problem.... thanks anywaySorry, no got Dvico to compare with. This my first HD media player, and so far I am very pleased with it. After a few hours of fiddling with the settings on my ACR and my plasma, the picture looks very pleasing indeed. The colours are beautifully rendered based on my aging eyes. 1080p mkv's play smoothly with an occasional lag during fwd skips. I am now not sure if I want to play BD ISO files considering that my plasma is only HD Ready and that these files are humongus in size. For those without AV amps to decode DTS, the HDMI output will produce down-mixed audio to your TV. One thing I find lacking in this player (donno about other players) is that it does not allowing you to do any scaling. It is either set to 4:3 or 16:9, unlike the soft player like my favourit BS Player. QUOTE(Maniac @ Aug 23 2009, 09:47 PM) end up i spend the next 1 week running here and there for the letter of sirim. cost me nothing for the letter, but petrol spent on here and there loh. QUOTE(chewkl @ Sep 2 2009, 05:46 PM) WDTV can go play far far. Don't even have HDMI 1.3. ok WDTV out liao Dvico is an established player in the market. Why do U think they can command a high price? ACRyan and Xtreamer are newcomers to the playing field. Basically both are the same on the inside as they are using the same Realtek chipset. Difference is only on their customized firmware. There are also a lot of other companies coming up with their own players based on the same 1073DA/DD Realtek chipset. |
