QUOTE(terencetoo @ Aug 28 2009, 12:01 AM) Yup Dude Bingo! thats y im trying to explained.. i think this is cause by power adapter that charged the MBP although I have switch off my machines. If i unplug the power adapter the slight "vibration" will stop....even my external hdd under firewire... Grounding issue is not a problem at all. Coz i dont feel any static shock at all...im using Belkin Surge Master P/S: Do u guys unplug the power adapter after u switch off the laptop? I noticed this myself too during the early days of owning my MBP. But now I don't feel it anymore though. I never noted/noticed the difference with and without plugging in. However, my brother and my mother still feels this "vibration" (when plugged in, never tested without). Perhaps I got used to it that it doesn't affect me at all now. Also during the early days I also felt an occasional electric shock from the front edges of my MBP (plugged in). Now I never notice it.

@rheza02, If U don't need ur Mac when you go overseas, it would be advisable to drop it at the Mac Stores when you're away; that way you won't go without a computer for the 1-2 weeks waiting for the parts to get here and for the computer to be repaired @MetalZone, I bet you just got used to it that's all

@rheza02, In that case, my suggestion is for U to send in ur Mac to the Stores just before U go overseas. Tell them to do what is needed and when you get back just go pick it up. I did that the last time and tell U; that's the best arrangement

QUOTE(dvlzplayground @ Aug 27 2009, 11:34 PM) no need. that's the nice thing about virtual machines, u dont need to mess around with partitions and formatting and stuff. virtual machines kinda boots another OS on top of a 'fake' (hence the name virtual) system. it will create a file that contains the whole OS, as if its another computer. if one day u want to remove it, juz delete the file. no hard disk erase or anything. very simple to use, n a great way to 'experiment' with other OS other alternatives include Parallels Desktop and Sun VirtualBox (free). in my opinion, parallels is the best well worth the money thanks for ur advice..how abt can i do a partition in my wind xp??

QUOTE(th3_glove20 @ Aug 28 2009, 02:53 PM) thanks for ur advice..how abt can i do a partition in my wind xp?? that's possible as well. u need Boot Camp Assistant for that (its built in, not another app). its creates a separate partition on ur harddrive (it wont mess up the OSX partition) then u just have to insert the windows dvd, it will then reboot and start installing windows like any other computer would. when its done, insert the OSX dvd to install drivers (u only need to install a single program that will install all drivers for u, u dont have to install drivers one by one). if u want to delete the partition, boot camp assistant will let u merge ur harddisk back to a single partition. again, the OSX partition will not be harmed

@rheza02, Am not sure what U mean by take another MBP before U go back. I plan to place my order within the next few days. The last time I checked, it would take approximately 3 working days to get it delivered; am not sure about now though.

@tinkerbel, I'm just at the Online Apple Store; and Estimated Shipping is Within 24 hrs now instead of 3 days that I saw earlier. U could always get the MBP off the Stores when U drop urs in for 'servicing' -Added- oK.. At the check out cart, it states 3 days estimated shipping on the MBP so I guess it's 3 days. And since I can't use my Amex to make the purchase I'll just go ahead and place the order this weekend This post has been edited by tinkerbel: Aug 28 2009, 04:01 PM

O_O you dont have to, apple would already have inserted the uptodate disc on all macs made one month ago or two,it gets typically shipped around these timeframe so the next time the resellers stock up their macs it shuld contain the SL uptodate.

From what I have found, the keyboard will not light up if the room is too bright. Don't know is this true or not. And for the green light thing, I just noticed there is a button beside the indicator to press on...

The keyboard will not light up if it's bright enough even if you try to adjust the brightness by pressing the keys on the keyboard.
The battery indicator will not light up unless you press the button beside it, which will briefly light up to show the battery level and then turn off. It'll also show the battery level when you unplug your power adaptor
