New MacBook Pro user here.

Bought it during PC Fair and was so excited about it.

But after my first use, I am so far disappointed.

All because of defect pixel.

After swapping for a new MacBook Pro, my 2nd MacBook Pro also has defect pixel.

How lucky am I?

I don't feel like going back to swap for the 3rd MacBook Pro because "he" gave me a not so happy face look.

Any other solutions to solve this problem?

How much you bought the MC026 in Machines KLCC?

he got dead pixel man >.< it doesnt lie .. and -.- i dont think anyone who spent thousands on lappy can bear with dead pixel >.<
*
Yup...totally agree with you. If I pay RM2k+ for a laptop, I can't say anything. But this is a RM7k+ laptop man!!!!

Has anyone heard "what you pay is what you get"?

I paid RM8k+ (with AppleCare) and do you expect me to accept this kind of problem?

Plus Apple is well known for it's graphic. What's the use of excellent graphic if you have defect pixels?

QUOTE(preducer @ Aug 4 2009, 01:37 AM)
how bad is it ?? and also what is apple policies on dead pixel ? is 1 dead pixel entitled for a replacement ?

btw read this > http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?t...080302&tstart=0
*
What Apple Policies? Before buying it, the sales person told me that they will swap a new one for me IF THERE ARE ANY DEFECT HARDWARE...

So I guess I am entitle to swap right?

1 dead pixel doesnt entitled you to replacement..
*
Why not? I already did it on my first swap. After first swap, there is still a defect pixel

ur lucky for the first time, usually they wont unless there are a lot of dead pixels like 3-4.
*
Are you sure they won't swap a new one?

Today I went back to the place where I purchased it and they allow me to swap 1 more time

Lucky again?

QUOTE(jind86 @ Aug 4 2009, 01:55 PM)
why worry about them not swapping it for you? whatever it is, the problem didnt derive from you, the unit is faulty, simply bring back to them and tell them bout the problem, your unit is covered under apple warranty anyway..
*
Yeah. They allow me to swap but I don't want. Therefore I choose refund.

Don't want to cause them any trouble anymore, plus my 7 days for returning a faulty MacBook Pro is going to end soon, don't want to take the risk again

Hmm...matte display?

I am wondering, will it affects the quality of the image? Better? Same?

Need some help here guys...

When I press the "AirPort" on top and choose "Open Network Preferences", nothing comes out. Only saw the "Finder" on top changed to "System Preferences"

Same goes to "Change Desktop Background". At first, there are pictures for me to select, but after few times changing, when I press "Change Desktop Background", only saw "Finder" changed to "System Preferences"....

New Mac user reporting in biggrin.gif
guys wonder this question has been raised b4..

when u switch off the laptop...
u gently touch the Alu case, can u feel vibration on it, like something charging or the hardware is spinning ....

Tried unplug my USB cablea and the vibration stop.....is this normal? do u guys leave the usb cable/ firewire on the mac

Another thing is ....is it harmful that leaving the charging cradle charge your laptop all day long? or u guys just unplug when u switch off the mac

Thanks
*
I don't know if it's vibration or what, but I think I know what you mean.

When the power cable is on and I touch the aluminum surface, it doesn't feel smooth. Can feel the "vibration"

But when I unplug the power cable and touch the surface, it feels smooth...

The feel when touching the aluminum surface is different when the power cable is plugged in or unplug..

i not sure about this, maybe put your hand on the isight to check wheter the keyboard light will light or not
and about the "no green light on battery indicator on the side..", i dont know about this.
*
From what I have found, the keyboard will not light up if the room is too bright. Don't know is this true or not.

And for the green light thing, I just noticed there is a button beside the indicator to press on...
