I saw 6km and 8km......

the only single water station (in the 11km) is kind of kiamsiap......

I heard horn....not gun shot.....
btw, when is the next short race in Kayel?

1 water station for 11km is more than enough...

my fren who run under 50mins did not drink at all...

Yes, if for those regular runners who are already hydrate enough for themselves before the race and aim for good timing (stop at water station will delay for few seconds which is important for them) But let's think about others ok, we just don't want to see another incident like AKOTR.

from what i read you're not suppose to drink in a 5km or 10km race.
maybe just the first 5km drink a bit but after the halfway mark better don't drink cuz ur body won't absorb the water in time anyway.
suppose to be well hydrated before the race.
half marathons and full marathons are another story lah. smile.gif

Honestly, you dun need a good pair of shoes to run..
Have you seen people running barefooted clocking great times on the road? if u hv participated in events i m sure u will..

If you have the heart to run, any shoe will do, try shorter distances? run on the grass? track?

hmm.gif personal preference I guess
I myself din stop though.. I guess norm is when we train.. like 8/10 km on norm days we dun drink water..
I doubt if there is a dwnside to drinking water in the middle of a 10km run

Eh was wondering, runners should have a pretty low resting heart rate right?
Just calculated mine, it's about 63 bpm.

- just saw in a running forum that a lot have about 50.
- ok acquired target tongue.gif

A huge improvement when i was slacking for the past few years. It was at about 80++.

Had a junior who had a rate of about 30+ - 40. Crazy...but he's a crazy runner...

runners with stamina usually regains back his normal heartbeat fast aka fast recovery. Some sportsman's heartbeat is very slow and steady, it differs individually.

Mine is 50-60 resting. Not because I'm a fast runner tho biggrin.gif

Before I start running, my resting HR / basal body temperature / blood pressure are already pretty low due to low thyroid hormones.

Yes. Depends on what marathon events, they have it for the public usually, those who can't stand. Not everyone go for marathons the main reason is to run ok. But if you're a real runner who run for competitions you should know not to consume any water during run cuz you'll slack eventually. Its common sense, so regarding your last question, its a yes biggrin.gif

Erm, may I know where you got your source from euphoria?
I really want to know that.

In case you don't realise, it's a 42km run.
EVERY article i've read about marathons encourage the runners to drink whether ur a pro or not.
And in every race i see even the winners drink something.

you missed a point there. Some people participate marathon not to run. To walk or whatver they want. And my run is running non-stop. You can check k, which athelete drinks water in a 5km run smile.gif
