@doomx,
If U can afford the i3GS, U should consider it, seriously! It's so much faster than the i3G U won't regret the decision.

Can I pay with my Maybank debit card for installment plan? Do I have to be a Malaysian citizen to do so?

@cybpsych,
I just got back from PC Fair - saw the EpiCentre booth and from the brochures, Maxis is now offering instalment plans (only applicable when U sign up for iValue plans) - details been updated on Post #1 here so please check it out; don't need to go all the way to get the information smile.gif

Also, if U want the i3GS U will haf to wait; stocks are out but there are a couple of demo sets for U to play with if U wish biggrin.gif

thanks on the survy from PC Fair. Good to know the current installment plans.

@onichon, cybpsych:
information in instalment plans is available on the first post. available from Maxis & Machines. please refrain from posting chitty-chatty post. thanks.
*
i'm dont intend to chitchat. i intend to buy a unit and asking a valid question whereby the exact details of installment was not available in the first few posts.

the new infos (installment availability for iValue plans only) only surfaced & answered by tinkerbel after i asked the question.

hi all,

I'm not sure if these have been asked before but here goes:
1. Can we sign up for Maxis Mobile Internet (RM99/month) on top of the iValue Plans?
2. Can we use MultiSIM-1-Line service on top of the iValue Plans?

Thanks in advance.

Then, the card has to be issued in Malaysia? If not, I can ask my sis who is in SG to use her card.

This is pretty straight forward, if you're not a Hotlink subscriber then buy the starter pack for RM8.80 and then pay the respective price of the iPhone. Then you can use it right away with any SIM from any telco, but the 500MB is only for active Hotlink/Maxis subscribers.

Hi there...sorry to sound like a noob or something, but what do you mean by active? Reload every month? I read somewhere that there's a minimum RM10 reload a year...so is that what you meant by active? Kindly enlighten me...thanks! smile.gif

@rapster88:
i'm not sure about other banks but i'm pretty sure Maybank's debit card is not allowed for installments purposes. for installment plans, it's advisable to use a credit card.

@oerdri5:

if you still haven't receive it until now, call up Maxis CS. normally, the confirmation SMS should be receive within the first few hours (that's in my case).

@NutterButters:

from the first page:

QUOTE
Prepaid users
1. You would still want to enjoy 500mb of data bundle every month for a year (without being contracted), get the iPhone under Hotlink plans.
> Get the Hotlink Youth Club simpack at RM8.80 if you're under 25 and you'll get 4 years validity (with minimum top up of RM10 per year) or
> Get a normal Hotlink simpack, subscribe to Hotlink 365 (maintain prepaid line validity for a year) for:
Subscription is RM33 (one time) + RM30 (min top-up within 1st 6 months) = RM63
**Both will ensure your prepaid line will be valid 24/7 to receive the 500mb data bundle!

minimum top up of RM10 per year is only valid for Hotlink Youth Club subscribers.

For normal Hotlink users, subscribe to Hotlink 365 and pay RM63 to maintain validity (ie. active) of the line.

Just confirmed by calling xustomer service:

Last week I bought a sim pack $8.80 from Maxis. And I went back to Maxis to confirmed the 500mb they told me I am not registered so I called machines they told me its Maxis fault. 2 Parties blaming each other so I called customer to clarified here the answer:

For those who bought the phone from machines you will not be entitled the 500mb free every month.

Only those eligible - if you purchased the phone directly from Maxis you will be entitled 500mb.

What a double standard- those who purchased from machines will be short changed just like me.

@pjastro:

that not supposed to happen. no where in the T&C states that. heck, it doesn't even make sense at all.

first of all, the Hotlink plan stated that anyone who got their iPhone via the plan is entitled to get the 500MB data for free. since Maxis is the sole distributor of iPhone locally, and Machines is an official agent/distributor of Maxis for iPhones, thus, as long as you'd obtain your iPhone from Maxis and is a Hotlink subscriber, you should get the 500MB data bundle.

i think it might just be some misinformation. do clarify with Maxis again. (and i mean Maxis centres, rather than the Maxis CS Hotline) smile.gif

Yes, I got a shock when I was being informed machines is not participating in the 500mb program!!

Very Shock! That's not what I read in their website.
When I was at Maxis centre the sales agent showed the screen that my number does not stated 500mb+12 months while other did showed.

@pjastro:

what i suggest is you make a call to Maxis or visit the Maxis centre again and seek more clarification/information on that. all Hotlink subscribers who got their units off Maxis centres, MEP and Machines are paying the same amount but yet why would Machines' ones are not getting the 500MB?

even so, Maxis should state this in their T&C or somewhere to inform potential buyers.

I just got my 3G S from machine gardens this morning, hotlink plan. No news on 500MB so decided to make a call to Maxis, bla bla.. hold up for 7 min then tell me the system is down etc. my 500MB is not activated and ask me to call again in 24 hours to check with them....

That call alone ended up makan my poor RM8.80 prepaid value.. sigh...
