QUOTE(heLL_bOy @ Jul 30 2009, 06:32 PM) yes.. if you use over 500mb they will charge you in the prepaid system in a month. once you buy prepaid and together i-phone 2 hours time they will active the 500mb data for you. Say I receive the phone on the 20th. The 500MB is valid until 19th of the following month? Or I need to finish the 500MB before the 1st of the following month?

QUOTE(heLL_bOy @ Jul 30 2009, 06:39 PM) yes... if you doesn't finish it won't roll forward to next month. Actually, I am asking for the "deadline" for the 500MB. For example, I get it on 20/8. The 500MB will start on that day right? So I got the 500MB for 20/8 to 19/9? Or is it 20/8-31/8 and then 1/9-30/9 for the next 500MB? Sorry if I made you confused.

@NXaqua, If Ur currently on the RM99 Unlimited plan and intend to continue using it, Y don't U just cancel it and sign up under iData 3? That way everything remains the same for U and U get RM500 off the i3GS for a 12 month contract. If U are oredi on iValue plan and have 500MB with ur existing line, I don't think U need to subscribe to the RM99 Unlimited plan. Sorry I don't quite understand your situation so advise may be a little off @crazy25kid, It will be pro-rated and will start when U activate the SIM card with the i3GS. In ur example, it will be until 19th of next month; it follows a bill cycle.

I am kinda noob to this mobile phone plan thing so I would definitely need some advice before venture my mobile phone journey into iPhone 3GS.
The thing is I seldom call and SMS (less than 10 times per day for both task). I'm currently using Maxis plan (not quite sure what it is but I don't have to top up my point for 1 year) for my Motorola model. It's a very old model and SMS on it really took time.
Any idea on which plan might suit me most? Also, I might use GPS depending on the situation. Does GPS usage counted towards data usage?
Can't I just my existing SIM card?

@cybpsych, Pls refer to Post #1 for information on instalment plans but chances are Maxis won't do instalment plans for prepaid/outright purchases; no harm checking though.
@D.Sync, If you're a student, sign up for Hotlink Youth. Use that prepaid SIM to get the i3GS (U won't be able to get a discount off the i3GS phone price) but U will be entitled FOC 500MB data each month for 12 months.
IMO that's the best plan for U.

@D.Sync:you can choose to if you want. i assume it's a prepaid? what tinkerbel is saying is you can use your current prepaid sim and sign up for Hotlink Youth Club (if you're under 25). details below (more in the first page): QUOTE Prepaid users 1. You would still want to enjoy 500mb of data bundle every month for a year (without being contracted), get the iPhone under Hotlink plans. > Get the Hotlink Youth Club simpack at RM8.80 if you're under 25 and you'll get 4 years validity (with minimum top up of RM10 per year) or > Get a normal Hotlink simpack, subscribe to Hotlink 365 (maintain prepaid line validity for a year) for: Subscription is RM33 (one time) + RM30 (min top-up within 1st 6 months) = RM63 **Both will ensure your prepaid line will be valid 24/7 to receive the 500mb data bundle! I just managed to read through half of the posts above this and I found a very interesting comparison:
--- 16GB + iData 50 (12 mths contract) Phone = RM2090 iData 50x12= RM600 Total = RM2,690
16GB + Prepaid Phone = RM2490 Prepaid=RM63 Total = RM2,553
Savings = RM137 = 5% of RM2690! --- I think many of the forumers reading this thread may have missed out the following point. For the sake of saving RM137/year or RM11.42/month, you have to carry two phones, not going to use your new iPhone for call, sms, and mms for the next 12 months. You new iPhone is only as good as an iPod Touch.
