@boringpig,
3GB is capped for both the 3GB plan & the Unlimited data plan. Anything over and above 3GB, U will be charged.

QUOTE(tinkerbel @ Aug 12 2009, 10:12 AM) @boringpig, @tinker and all,3GB is capped for both the 3GB plan & the Unlimited data plan. Anything over and above 3GB, U will be charged. Unlimited data plan is really unlimited. I have downloaded around 3.6gb (from iphone data usage) last billing month and receive my statement last night and i was only charged for RM99 as per the plan. Nothing stated about the amount of usage used. Out of curiosity I called maxis this morning and ask how much data I use for last month (double checking on usage used is more than 3gb). The CS lady states maxis do not monitor the amount of usage used for unlimited plan, thus no usage is recorded to my number. I also mentioned about the 3gb limit rumour, and she said that the informer might be confused with the 3g broadband plan. Can someone else try it with their plan as well? |

@boringpig,
My sources keeps telling me it's capped at 3GB. I too did ask him, how then would Maxis know if and when we've exceeded the 3GB cap when our limit is reset to 0; he couldn't give me an answer but he told me it's capped at 3GB. Ah well.. since you've downloaded 3.6GB data and wasn't charged extra then it's good. Btw what on earth are U downloading?! @fangcheng, U can make the change when U make collection of ur iPhone. |

@fangcheng,
Customers porting in from other telcos can only sign 12 months contract. As such, if ur porting over from DiGi, U aren't able to sign a 24 month contract. |

Was told I can choose to subscribe to Maxis Broadband unlimited access @ RM99/month for 24 months, then I get RM900 off to buy an iPhone. So I can use this as a backup to the ever-not-so-stable-Streamyx.
Good option to take? Thanks. |

@carolcwf,
Yes it definitely can be an alternative esp if you travel quite a bit but RM99 p/month for the next 24 months is quite a lot of $. As is it, during PC Fair, Maxis's USB modem's were cheaper than RM99. The RM900 U save on the i3GS may not be so worth it IMO. |
