What is the different between idata3 & unlimited data ???

Unlimited, according to what it says, is unlimited !

They told me this is a different package, so modem doesn't come with it. I dunno why.

Added on August 14, 2009, 3:29 pmI am not taking idata3 package. This is a Maxis mobile internet package apparently, hence it is unlimited access. And since I am quite a heavy user, I think I can use this as backup when Streamyx decides to take a holiday.

It's a plan, for 24 months. My area would not be having DiGi broadband until maybe early next year. So when DiGi's network is stable, should be right on time for me to switch plan.

mm.... is there a plan called "Maxis Broadband unlimited access @ RM99/month for 24 months" and save RM900 for iPhone 3GS? I just check Maxis website and there is no such plan. You was mentioned you was told about this, mind telling us who told you?

Maxis plan for iPhone 3GS is kind of tricky and feel like not worth it.

I don't really know the exact product name for this package but this is indeed the plan which was offered.

I tether using usb. Will not last past 3pm if don. Haha... but last longer than i3g

doesnt iPhone charge itself when plugged into USB? So when tethering, isnt the phone charging thus making battery a non-issue?

AhHh Maxis Broadband - that would mean limited access as Maxis Broadband ain't available at all areas. Still, I wouldn't recommend for U to take on this plan; U might as well sign up for iData 3 and when Streamyx DOES fail U, U could always Internet Tether.

If ur using USB to Internet Tether, ur i3GS by right is being charged at the same time; what drains fast then would be ur laptop; if it's not connected to a power supply.

Based on what i know, Maxis won't inform u about ur usage of Internet Data,
but you can always track it with your iPhone settings there, and reset it to 0 MB every month, that's the best & sufficient way i guess

Heard that there's some other 3rd party software which do more than just data usage record

for any unlimited plan, better check fine print

for home maxis broadband, suppose to be unlimited, but there is a fineprint, its still capped at certain download

for the rm 99 unlimited 3g, the most i went up to is 8gb for a moon

i'm using idata2 now for my 3gs .. can i subscribe to rm 99 unlimited 3g via supplementary line? (for wife's 3g)

when we get our i3gs we have a maxis service card rite? my problem is i have lose that damn card...will it effect warranty services with maxis?

it has been asked before that once u lost yr warranty card means the warranty is over.

Please check Post #1 for rates. Also, U won't be entitled a cheaper set unless U unsubscribe your current RM99 Unlimited access plan and resign on the iData 3 plan.
