i believe that mobile internet still unable to replace Streamyx, unless you only use it for casual surfing.
I will use this as a backup to Streamyx only.. So can it be considered casual surfing? Thanks.Maxis iPhone Discussion Thread | V1, Strictly Rates/Plans Discussion ONLY

@carolcwf,
Yes it definitely can be an alternative esp if you travel quite a bit but RM99 p/month for the next 24 months is quite a lot of $. As is it, during PC Fair, Maxis's USB modem's were cheaper than RM99. The RM900 U save on the i3GS may not be so worth it IMO. |

This is a Maxis mobile internet package apparently, hence it is unlimited access. And since I am quite a heavy user, I think I can use this as backup when Streamyx decides to take a holiday. So when DiGi's network is stable, should be right on time for me to switch plan. This post has been edited by carolcwf: Aug 14 2009, 03:33 PM |

QUOTE(carolcwf @ Aug 14 2009, 03:22 PM) Hi Tinkerbel, mm.... is there a plan called "Maxis Broadband unlimited access @ RM99/month for 24 months" and save RM900 for iPhone 3GS? I just check Maxis website and there is no such plan. You was mentioned you was told about this, mind telling us who told you? They told me this is a different package, so modem doesn't come with it. Maxis plan for iPhone 3GS is kind of tricky and feel like not worth it. |

doesnt iPhone charge itself when plugged into USB? So when tethering, isnt the phone charging thus making battery a non-issue?

@carolcwf,
AhHh Maxis Broadband - that would mean limited access as Maxis Broadband ain't available at all areas. Still, I wouldn't recommend for U to take on this plan; U might as well sign up for iData 3 and when Streamyx DOES fail U, U could always Internet Tether. @jphlau, If ur using USB to Internet Tether, ur i3GS by right is being charged at the same time; what drains fast then would be ur laptop; if it's not connected to a power supply. |

Based on what i know, Maxis won't inform u about ur usage of Internet Data, but you can always track it with your iPhone settings there, and reset it to 0 MB every month, that's the best & sufficient way i guess Heard that there's some other 3rd party software which do more than just data usage record Cheers |
