QUOTE(NekoRacing @ Aug 8 2009, 12:51 PM) Maxis has a discriminatory pricing to users. Users who have gotten their iPhone overseas can't go on the iValue plan. Wtf? Not in defense of Maxis but to be fair, the iValue plans are specifically designed to be tied to purchases of iPhones from them. So, how can one insist that he be allowed to get the plan when he did not or would not want to buy an iPhone from Maxis? Just like they would not entertain any warranty claims for your iPhone bought elsewhere.

QUOTE(jin1119 @ Aug 12 2009, 11:43 AM) @tinkerbel, Thanks for the advice, btw i heard some forum-er said that the free 333mins for ivalue plan only call maxis to maxis?mean other operator (digi and celcom) not include in 333mins? The 333 mins for voice calls are not free. You are paying for them under the monthly plan. Therefore, there is no restriction as to which no. you call.

QUOTE(rx330 @ Sep 5 2009, 12:12 PM) i signed during the preoder period , i dun remember seeing the free smses, that day i browse thru only i notice that, so am i automatically eligible for it? or no? From what I gathered, it is across the board meaning every customer who has the iValue plan is entitled to whatever is thrown in.

QUOTE(viosowner @ Sep 6 2009, 10:46 PM) quick question. sorry if it was answered b4. i am using hotlink with 3gs now. free 500mb for 1 year. (im few who got the phone damn early during launch, hotlink still available then) i seldom call and cant even finish 100mb of the 500mb free data entitled for first month usage... after 1 yr, can i opt for Value first + iData rm30? tat will make my bill only rm60+/month Your obligation under contract is for a tenure of 12 months. After lapsation of that duration, it is your prerogative to do whatever you choose. That is in simple terms, the law of contract.

That is in simple terms, the law of contract. In my haste to reply, it slipped me that getting an iPhone with a pre-paid plan, you are not obligated under any contract. It is just that Maxis provides you with the free monthly data for a period of 12 months. Hence, you can store the pre-paid card away and sign up whatever plan you opt for. Whether you fully utilize the data or not use it at all, there is no loss to you since it is free but it would be a waste. I know some people who do that just to get the iPhone without being tied down by any contract.

QUOTE(tinkerbel @ Oct 16 2009, 11:52 AM) @Sevenfold, Your only option is to wait for Maxis to open up prepaid / Hotlink purchases then u can buy it without a stipulated contract period and use the iPhone with your DiGi. @Sevenfold Or simply scour Garage Sales here and buy from one of the re-sellers with no strings attached. However, my personal advice is buy an officially unlocked unit.

QUOTE(sewerside @ Oct 20 2009, 03:10 AM) why maxis had the prepaid plan but now no more? finally i have managed to save some money and then now they said no more prepaid plan... sigh.. then how will ppl able to buy iPhone? some ppl like me, need to save money first. how can they cancel the prepaid plan just like that? I understand your plight but it is a business decision on the part of Maxis. They can and they did. However, it is not permanent. So, if you do not want to sign up any contract or purchase from outside sources, you would have to bear it out for a little longer.

QUOTE(sblsbl @ Nov 5 2009, 10:27 PM) Got a SMS offer from Maxis: Get the iPhone 3G for RM240 when u sign-up to Business Value Plus 150 + Data 3GB RM99. Good deal ka? If you make a lot of calls and use extensively the data, it would be. If not, do the math yourself as the 3G 8gb costs only RM1990 to purchase outright.

QUOTE(tyketyke @ Nov 11 2009, 09:41 PM) that just sucks to the max. like when the hell are they gonna make it available?! >=( fuh just ranting lol. but seriously, anyone got any heads up on when the things available for outright purchase? i cant even get one at an APPLE STORE eventhough its an apple product, maxis monopolizing wtf. i need to satisfy my lust for the 3gs Since your lust for the i3GS is so great, get it from alternative sources. And if you want to curse at a party, curse Apple. After all, it is they who gave Maxis the sole distributorship. Added on November 11, 2009, 11:05 pmQUOTE(Cyan7 @ Nov 11 2009, 09:56 PM) @tinkerbel But some of them manage to get it via prepaid plan before this right? QUOTE(Qool @ Nov 26 2009, 10:30 AM) hi everyone, can anyone help me on this. I'm on ivalue 100 since last year April and contract will end this April 2010. If say i want iPhone 3Gs, could i signup for another ivalue 100 or any cheaper idata plan and get the phone? What will happened to my current contract for Dec 2009 -> April 2010. will I have to pay for the 2 contracts for this period? Firstly, you cannot use the same line/no. to sign up another plan when you are already committed to one. The only thing that can be done is to terminate the first contract and hence releasing your obligation allowing you to sign up a new plan. But you don't want to do that as there will be 'punitive' charges for doing that. Thus you either sign up with another line or wait out your contract period. Of course, you could buy an i3GS from alternative sources without any binding contract.

QUOTE(maru @ Dec 5 2009, 12:58 PM) hi guys...i wanna send my iphone for warranty, cause i accidentally drop it. Its working fine but the phone =_= , bad condition. So what can i do in order for me to claim 1 to 1 exchange? You can pray that later there is a problem with the hardware. Apart from that, you can't do anything as dropping and damaging your phone does not come under the ambit of the warranty.

QUOTE(butterflydarling @ Dec 19 2009, 10:43 PM) i just booked my phone last week. is there anything i need to know about the settings when i get my phone? so that it doesnt connect to the internet by itself? coz i saw a thread on lyn that says maxis have been over billing them. im worried. The first thing you need to do is to jailbreak your iPhone then install SB Settings. With that you can shut off 3G and Edge. This will prevent automatic connection which will save you unnecessary data usage and thus $$$. To know more about the new gadget that you are going to possess, please read the pinned threads.

QUOTE(alxlwy @ Jan 10 2010, 02:57 PM) It should be that way but it isn't. My brother's maxis bill, monthly commitment, RM50 but total usage RM90. Therefore, he should be paying RM90, isn't it? Apparently not. Maxis adds up his monthly commitment and total usage. Let me attempt to clear your problem but a caveat first, I may be totally off tangent. If you are referring to the statement, yes Maxis will add your commitment to the monthly usage but if you were to scrutinize the statement thoroughly, which you should, you will see that somewhere in the breakdown, they will deduct the commitment sum which will then make the final amount payable correct.

QUOTE(theseller @ Jan 14 2010, 02:24 AM) Hi guys, is the 16GB 3GS easily available? Or is there a long waiting list? Feel like picking one up but don't want to wait for a long time. If you care to read the threads, you will know that there is a long waiting list for the 3GS 16gb. However, you can grab a 32gb on the run at most of the Maxis centres and without contract too.

QUOTE(cradowx @ Jan 15 2010, 02:33 PM) Will maxis notify ur data limit once u have exceeded the limit? From the screenshot, you can see that Maxis won't allow you to exceed the limit. They will 'renew the pass' and if you do not want 'extension', you have to deactivate. That is the pure business way.
