Hey guys, what do you think of my battery usage? Is this normal?

From 100% charge, after 7hrs 44 mins of standby and 4hrs 31 mins of usage turned (on wifi to access Mafia Wars for a while and to played a few games of TTR3 .. 3G was on for a couple of hours since disconnected from charge.. listening to MP3), the battery is now 67%.

Hmm I did a full clean restore to 3.1.2 and then JB'd using blackra1n..

Please note that although I did not turn off 3G earlier, I had used fakeAPN and I've also turned off PUSH etc.

I'm glad to hear that my battery usage is normal. Thanks for the info. thumbup.gif . On a side note.. i'm addicted to my IPhone.

hello guys, so i tried to charge to full battery and switch off the power and switch on again before i went to bed. i've done all settings i can to save the battery life(3g off, wireless off, push off, location service off, email checking to never, etc). this morning i checked, the battery dropped 5% when i was sleeping - -" (8hrs). i've updated to 3.1.2 as well. so i guess this is abnormal for 5% drain while standby?

I think is considered normal drain. But for me, after 8 hours more of idle sleep. Either is 100% or 99% only. Same setting as yours.

Bro, ya phone only consume 1% of power after 8hrs of idle? shocking.gif Ya idle / sleep mod means in air plane mode? Mine even in airplane mod, after 6hrs of idle (i was sleeping) the battery reading were drop 5% in compare wit the figure i checked before i went knock off. Urs is insane. Guess probably its time to play with the charging sequence of my phone battery in order to max out the battery life.

Is normal mode. Haven't use airplane mode before. Once or twice I will drain my battery to 5% before fully charge it. This is to maintain good service life of the battery.

Attach battery pack like incase power slider, mophie juice pack or air version. That's the only solution. If play iPod music battery drain is low unlike browsing or gaming. When screen on, it drains.

Btw I'm on 3.01 firmware. Planning to upgrade to 3.12 soon. Hopefully it will ne stable cause my current firmware is very stable but I can't run buuuk

Well if you're surfing or browsing with your iPhone, battery tends to deplete quite fast rclxub.gif

Surfing using wifi is fine. If use 3 g only battery
will drain.

So far today excellent. From 6am did surfing on
wifi watched inglorious *******
made some calls and SMS
and battery life now says 52%. It's the best result
I have had on an iPhone before. Bottomline
3g and gps will kill the battery

Agreed, somehow it drains battery very fast when you're on GPS service. shakehead.gif
That day I was testing GPS in iPhone and it went dead before I can even reach my destination..

I found out that Location Service doesn't give an impact on battery life at all. I just turn it on and leave the phone on sleep mode for 8 hours, just drop 1%.

The other day I used it to go to Kuala Selangor and back (about 55 mins to go there and 58 mins back) my battery was about half used, where were you headed? were you using like Google Maps ? It, using 3G to download maps could contribute to your battery drain.

Nah, I'm using Sygic, expensive but worth it I guess... though I'd probably regret it when tomtom for malaysia comes out tongue.gif

But if you think about it, Sygic doesn't use your 3g bandwidth so potentially it saves money in the long run.. especialy when talking about horrific Maxis overuse charges tongue.gif

@tnsai,
Based on your data usage, it doesn't seem as if you're going to have problems with data charges - U've used not even 10% of your 500MB in your last bill tongue.gif

Anyhow, I'm waiting for TomTom to release theirs but will think twice before I make the plunge since I'm usually the designated driver *grins*
