I think is considered normal drain. But for me, after 8 hours more of idle sleep. Either is 100% or 99% only. Same setting as yours.

Bro, ya phone only consume 1% of power after 8hrs of idle? shocking.gif Ya idle / sleep mod means in air plane mode? Mine even in airplane mod, after 6hrs of idle (i was sleeping) the battery reading were drop 5% in compare wit the figure i checked before i went knock off. Urs is insane. Guess probably its time to play with the charging sequence of my phone battery in order to max out the battery life.

Guys, need some advise here. I had actually done full restore twice for my phone, but still i'm having battery hogged issue. sad.gif I was thinking should I send the phone back to Maxis and for warranty or not.

After a full charged, i was about use the phone for 5hrs (include game, surfing, call, sms, check mail). Standby idle for 18hrs.. Battery left 20%.. Is that consider normal? Had gotten my phone for 1 week, and I have to charge it everyday. doh.gif

My case were:

- 3G is off (on edge all the while, fakeAPN installed)
- Wifi only on when needed
- Ipod is totally untouched (0 song, & movie synced)
- Bluetooth is off all the time
- Push is off (only check my Ping! / email whenever i on wifi connection)

P/s: Just wander, anyone send their 3Gs for warranty before? How long were it takes? And anyone have 1 to 1 exchange on the spot before?

Thats pretty normal. Besides you're only able to use the phone around 3 to 5 hours in a single charge. No matter you're browsing or gaming because the screen size and brightness has taken its toll.

Hi Jim.. Thanks for ya feedback! Am goin to try again today. Full charge after drained the batt to 5 percent and see how was it. Cause if there is a forumer where his phone can standby for a day ++ with around 3 hour usage.

Hey bro.. Thanks for the info again. Indeed.. As u can see from my previous post, i had listed down my configuration on my phone. The phone were act in the way no push, no 3G, wifi only when need, no iPod, no video, Bluetooth is off too. GPS only on twice (the day i collect my phone and try in maxis center, and hand itch tried another at home at the same day). No email fetching as well.. Turn off auto brightness, and set it manually around 30 - 35%. No jail-brake too.. All the apps / games is legal purchased.

Im actually working in a cold environment (server room), and my phone put on the table most of them and the I believe temperature ain't be the problem of causing power loss fast.

P/s: Whats the point of turning the phone when not in use? tongue.gif Powering on the phone is the moment where the battery is been drained most.

@tnsai

Nice result u have there. Btw, ur on Edge all the time? And with all the maximum power saving mode? I play around with the battery charging cycle and did a fresh restore. So far i have 63% left after 2hrs 30mins usage (3G on for around 45mins, same games, some sms & some call) and 16hrs of standby. My battery life result seems to be better now.

Guys, I found that the phone battery will only work in the way it should be after u play around with the charging cycle. (please refer back to page 19 for more information).

Mine seems back to the track now after few round of complete battery charging cycling. Longest life time were with 1 day 12hrs of standby with 7hrs of usage. And battery life left 20% before i plug for charging..

And testing again on last night, full charged on 100% and hanged on my home wireless network until this morning i wake up. Battery left 92%.

Bro, basically, your 7 hours of usage is mostly based on what? gaming or ipod?
*
Hm.. Barely can rmb is 45mins of call (rmb this figure cause i did a fresh restore), around 2hours+ of gaming. Most of the time is on sms / Ping! / browsing, and my phone is hooked on wifi most the time when I'm in office. Basically what i done is turn off 3G & Bluetooth, no fetch mail, brightness on 30-35% with auto adjust. And i lock off my screen every time after i done with my phone, 1 mins auto off is too long for me. Pressing the ON/OFF button helps in this.

P/s: Wander will heat cause the power lost? Cause my work place is quite cold environment and my phone is put on the table yet not in my pocket.

My latest battery life result with OS 3.1.3. None JB 3GS.

[attachmentid=1437358]

7 hours usage including:

- WiFi never turn off (got connected when im at home / office).
- Push on (for Yak & Ping! messenger).
- Email fetch once per hour
- Game proximately 20-40mins
- Surfing 10-30mins
- Heavy SMS
- 40mins of call

Comments: So far so good.. Might probably the 3.1.3 had corrected the battery life reading i assume.

Just updated to FW 3.13

Going to test how long it can last between a fresh full charged with my 3G on.

I'm starting to get lazy switching on and off the 3G. Just let the 3G on.

Hm.. All these awhile, I never turn off my phone 3G and WiFi, so whenver I at home / office the phone will automatically hooked up to the wireless. Right before upgrade to 3.1.3, the battery could last 24 - 36 hrs for me thou.

so in his case his phone had been using 1day 27 hour 11 min?
or 1 day 20hour

Bro, look carefully, u may get the clue. smile.gif

Standby Time = Amount of time iPhone has been powered on since its last full charge, including the time the phone has been asleep.

Usage = Amount of time iPhone has been awake and in use since the last full charge. The iPhone is awake when you're on a call, using email, listening to music, browsing the Web, sending and receiving text messages, or when certain background tasks occur such as auto-checking email.

@RynN - I have the opposite case as yours. Currently using iP4 and just started JB not long ago. Before JB, I lost about 10% per 8hrs (I charged my phone every night before I went to bed), usually will left 90% in the morning.

But after JB and tweak the phone with Cydia apps, I only spend 3% battery over the 8 hours. biggrin.gif Currently I have:

- SBSetting (FREE)
- Lockinfo ($7.99)
- QuickDo ($7.99
- iScheduler ($7.99)

installed. SBSetting helps the most in my case, I can free up the memory, kill unsure background process, turn off WiFi when my screen is locked & etc. Beside that, iScheduler is my secondary power saver too. I can set my phone to automatically turn on / off functions like edge, 3g, wifi or any related process at the specified time. I bought all the apps mentioned, it might sounds a lil pricy but for long term I think it worth.

@RynN - Yea. I maximized my phone power saving cause I need it when I'm on site, cause there is no way for me to charge if it dead suddenly.

Btw, you had just against the forum rules. sweat.gif No piracy is allowed here, pray hard David dont cross this thread else you will got free vacation. I bought all my apps officially from the dev as the sign of appreciate their works and time for creating such a wonderful tweak. wink.gif
