Hi there,

I have problems with my iphone 4 battery drains drastically. 2 weeks after upgrading ios5, my phone starts to get really hot even on standby mode and battery just drains! I've tried restoring back to factory setting, switch off all my connectivity and it still drains and my phone heating up. When I'm charging my phone, it takes more than 3 hours to charge not even more than 60%.

On top of that, I realized my camera couldn't do focus anymore whenever I tapped on the screen.

My phone is more than 1 year old now.

Is my battery life getting old now? Or there's problem with the firmware? I've been googling for days and I've tried all kind of solutions except for going into service centre which I don't know where exactly I can send my phone for checkups and repair here.

btw...as for battery problem

i notice a new problem

last time we had standby time = usage time

now I experienced that this usage time on the phone is actually longer than the time I had spent on the phone

eg. Fully charged....I open and use for a while (less than 1 minute)

I put it into standby mode and after a while I open again

the usage time will become like 1-2 minutes even it's sleeping

somehow smtg is running in the background

it's normal..its not caused by any cydia tweaks or what..the 1 or 2min was used to keep your telco's signal connected..unless u standby your phone in airplane mode after fully charged..then u wont see the 1 or 2min used even u din do anything
I've tested this myself personally btw, I used to restore my phone last time when I encountered your problem I thought something must have went wrong, I left it standby right after fully charged on a clean stock ios..no one sent me msg or called me during that night but it showed my usage time around 10+mins after I woke up..asked around, till then I found out its just that the phone needs to keep itself connected to the signal, so the phone wont let itself completely 'sleep'..some processes is still running even u sleep your phone, else it would be airplane mode, ..Hope this helps you

I thought Apple is on the issue and will release iOS 5.0.1 to solve the battery issue.

funny, it only happen to iphone, ipad no battery issue on iOs5

Not so much on the iPad. But there is slightly.

What about camera 'not focus' problem? After since iPhone gets hot every few second of usage, my camera cannot focus anymore by tapping on screen so it's like double combo problems! I'm going to try restore back to new iPhone setting to c if there's any changes, *prays*

Added on November 8, 2011, 10:28 pmLatest update: after resetting everything into a new iPhone, problems still occurs. After few second on talk time, battery gets hot and camera focus function not functioning too.

Whats the next steps should I do?

why my iphone 4 (ios 5.0.1 not jailbreak) usage and standy time are the same?

found the solution. i just reset network setting

I am using iphone 4s and the battery looks good. The battery used during bedtime of 8 hours about 2 to 5 % at home usj.

However when i am at tebrau my battery drops 7% for 7 hour sleep. The sudden increase could be due signal problem? I also notice battery drop faster when surfing.

My current usage is 1.3 hour and standby is 9.5 hour and the battery drop from 100 to 76% .Anthing not right? Thanks.

If on 3G, thats pretty normal

My i4 loses 0-2% battery overnight, with everything (data, wifi, etc) off...
Also, temperature may affect the batt

Usually i just charge until 100% which takes about 2 hours. The battery usually drop 3-7% during my 8 hour sleep.

I just noticed the longer i charge the better. Last night i charged about 5 hours (2 hours full charge, next 3 hours extra after that cuz i forgot to remove it).

After 4 hours standby, the battery is still 100%.
Perhaps trickle charge is better to fully charge the battery?

Go to sleep 100%
wake up 70%
12pm 10%

I'm doing a new restore as new iphone.
I hope it works...

iPhone 4s batt life is the worst among all the iPhone.
