I think Chubster gave birth last night. I didn't know. sad.gif

She gave no sign of it & I didn't hear any babies squeaking this morning.
I was feeding her mealworms 5 minutes ago when I noticed a blob of pink inside her box. I took a peek & found about 3 babies inside.
I think they're dead?

I took a very quick peek only and quickly pulled away because I was seriously shocked.

No, as far as I could see in that 5 second, none were moving or making any sound.

I have disambled the wheel and i think the wheel caster also can be used to make a wheel since it also has good bearing.

I went back to check on them. I stayed a distance away from the cage, just listening for squeaks because I know peeking is the most important thing that every hedgehog breeder told me NOT to do.

Then I heard it. Little squeaking sound. <3
At least 1 should be alive. Not quite sure about the one that I saw Chubster step on a few times...

-------------------------

I just fed her a few mealworms & YES!

TWO BABY HEDGEHOGS! ALIVE! rclxm9.gif

I don't think they will have any problem. Born to be stepped i think? Cause the mother always step on the babies. smile.gif

Sure, but do not use cedar shaving. It's poisonous to small animal in general.

Dog foods and cat foods are staple food for hedgehog in captive. However, do not choose low quality food lar.. haha...

welcome to the group!.. thumbup.gif

Gratz Telileti, are your parent hogs from nethelp?

No and no.

Wood chips could could cause mites to be on your hedgehog.

And because dog food is really big for hedgehog so better use cat food. And i heard that the nutrition content is different

AHahaha, born to be stepped on. xD
Oh thank goodness. I was worried that the baby might have died.
Thanks! biggrin.gif

Uhm, I bought Huffster from Leon.
I adopted Chubster from tanjesper, no idea where she came from before that, sadly.

Thank you. I hope they make it since they're still in this critical period of being cannibalised.
I don't want to take the risk of snapping a picture in fear of stressing the mum out.
Maybe I'll take a picture from the side of the storage box while I feed Chubster mealworms tomorrow morning.
No guarantees though.

if I want to choose a hedgehog in future, I will pick up one, put on my hand and look for the one which take shorter time to open from the his ball mode. Or the one which easily allow you to pick him or her up.
