i mean, i guess you could still touch them if you soap up your hand prior and wear a flu mask? but i just dont wanna risk it.

and i read somewhere before that while not proven, there have been rumours where owners who have herpes kissed their hedgehogs and passed it on? rofl shakehead.gif

Hedgehogs CAN get flu from human. Hedgehogs also CAN get flu from other pets or fellow hedgehogs.

If human have flu, try staying away as much as possible.
If pets or other hedgehog have flu, wash your hands before handling other animals.

If hedgie don't like mealies, you can try chopping off the mealies into two and feed it.

Also, hedgehog does not have large intestine. So, try feeding them less vegetables and fruits.

Ew, mealworm guts. I feed mealworms to my hedgies on a spoon. They now recognise it as the 'treats' spoon. smile.gif

Naw, I feed them fruits and cooked chicken about once a week. biggrin.gif

Thanks for the tip!

laugh.gif You're welcome.

Just curious, when do we need to change the version? Is there a maximum number of post that is limited for a topic?

I think so.

Past threads seem to die around the 100 page range as well. Why not message a mod & inquire before you create a new thread so we ca move to the new one? biggrin.gif

like ken hinted, try inquiring the person you got your hoglet from what brand of kibbles was it fed previously. it probably just doesnt like the current kibbles. try to obtain the brand that it's used to and mix it with the new kibbles that you got and gradually decrease the ratio of the old kibbles. and hopefully your hoglet starts eating again

from what i've read, most would probably assume that it's just getting used to it's new environment, to make 100% sure that you counted the kibbles you put in and so and so.

but on a personal point of view i would've tried giving it mealworms, crickets, chicken bits or anything to see if it's just being picky before gunning to the vet.

and yeah.. i was kinda lost on the wheel part too, lol

Yeap I counted it.. I tried kiwi, cooked egg, cooked carrot and some vegetables.. None work..

It's just 2 months old.. Is it okay to feed those stuff? Scare later no interest on kibbles at all.. I'll be doomed if that happen.. xD

They tend to stress out when introduced to a new environment, so they stop eating.
Your hedgie should start eating by today or tomorrow. smile.gif

Some hedgies are really picky. My male one (Huffy) won't touch fruits/vege.
Try cooked chicken (unflavoured, of course). Just a tiny piece.
Otherwise, buy mealworms. 99% chance your hedgie will eat it.
Don't feed more than 10 a day though (that is if your hedgie eats 'em).

Good luck!

Update on Chubster : Still very defensive. Still no babies. Still very chubby.

make sure ur kibbles are "chicken flavour" instead of "ocean fish flavour". Some other food like u mention better offer as a treat or else if they addicted then they will not interested on ur kibble anymore...
