QUOTE(Amedion @ Jul 26 2011, 02:23 PM) Got my hedgie on Saturday night. Everyday just walk around and drink. Don't want to eat. Any advise? like ken hinted, try inquiring the person you got your hoglet from what brand of kibbles was it fed previously. it probably just doesnt like the current kibbles. try to obtain the brand that it's used to and mix it with the new kibbles that you got and gradually decrease the ratio of the old kibbles. and hopefully your hoglet starts eating againThis post has been edited by olivur: Jul 26 2011, 02:47 PM |

from what i've read, most would probably assume that it's just getting used to it's new environment, to make 100% sure that you counted the kibbles you put in and so and so.
but on a personal point of view i would've tried giving it mealworms, crickets, chicken bits or anything to see if it's just being picky before gunning to the vet. and yeah.. i was kinda lost on the wheel part too, lol |

Yeap I counted it.. I tried kiwi, cooked egg, cooked carrot and some vegetables.. None work..
It's just 2 months old.. Is it okay to feed those stuff? Scare later no interest on kibbles at all.. I'll be doomed if that happen.. xD |

They tend to stress out when introduced to a new environment, so they stop eating.
Your hedgie should start eating by today or tomorrow. Some hedgies are really picky. My male one (Huffy) won't touch fruits/vege. Try cooked chicken (unflavoured, of course). Just a tiny piece. Otherwise, buy mealworms. 99% chance your hedgie will eat it. Don't feed more than 10 a day though (that is if your hedgie eats 'em). Good luck! Update on Chubster : Still very defensive. Still no babies. Still very chubby. This post has been edited by TeliLeti: Jul 26 2011, 03:55 PM |

I'd be as happy as a bee if my hedgies don't eat mealworms.
Gut-loading them is a smelly business. Every few weeks, I need to scoop 'em all out into a strainers to remove the frass and fine oats. Sometimes, the apple starts getting mouldy after 3 days, thus I need to remove the oats around the apple as well. |

myeah, i'm kinda glad that she doesn't eat random bugs since i plan to take her out in the garden and let her do whatever soon
but on the other hand, i'm skeptical that she'd do anything much during daytime, especially when i'm "playing" with her. since it'll almost certainly end up like this - ![]() and me ending up with a numb arm. anything higher than a hogster scale of 7 in terms of movement and this'll happen - ![]() and those eyes would be like O_O O_O sniff sniff sniff* rustle rustle rustle* and back to this - ![]() |

Huffster & Chubster prefers to run off to hide whenever I bring 'em out. They don't like sleeping on my lap. xD |

I'm starting to question if Chubster really is pregnant.
If she isn't, she's going to have to lose that weight FAST. Ehehehe, I quickly put my hedgies down when I see the tail comes up! |
