when got the card, it's combined limit with my existing card...so i planned to cancel it straight away....but in the starter pack of the pavlion card that i received got one promotion leaflet about cash rebate using the pavilion card... for gold rm100 (for minimum rm300 spending) & platinum rm200 (for minimum rm500 spending)... so i decided to keep the card since it got the promotion...i checked the T&C, it mention only for newly approved eonbank pavilion credit card...so ok la.....i used the card the the required amount as mentioned in the leaflet for me to be eligible to get the cash rebate....i used it within the promotion period....but till now no cash rebate....i went to their card center for complain last monday....i bring together the leaflet & my statement...their customer service counter representative also not know about the promotion (which ended already)...her superior said its is because the promotion only valid for new to bank customer....i said it never mention in T&C plus they send the leaflet together with the starter pack of my pavilion card...if i'm not eligible to the promotion why sent me the leaflet together with the starter pack ?? i insisted to see their manager.....but their manager was having meeting all day...so they said will contact me later.....today they called me, saying the same thing....no cash rebate since i'm not new to bank customer....but they offered me a gift which is a document bag they claimed worth rm200.... i said i still not satisfy since i want cash rebate, not bag....then i said i will proceed to make a formal complain to consumer body..& then she said ok la ...

its getting interesting haaa...currently i'm in between jobs..so got nothing to do....wanna bash some inefficiency of banking services....give them a run for my money...only after settle this dispute, i'll cancel my card...haha....

I think you are over-reacting. It is stated very clearly new-to-bank-customers in the first place. Same goes to the GSC-EON Bank Card. The cash rebate only applies to new customers. I have the card but i don't get the rebate as well. It certainly feels uncomfortable for not having it while others who applied the same card enjoys the rebate. But I don't wank around complaining about it ridiculously. Anyways, I plan to cancel the card once the first year fee waiver is over. Anyways, i dont like eon bank service too smile.gif

Finally, Today I received the MBB card I applied during TreatsFair (25 Jul) approx 1+ weeks.. not bad.

I wonder will Maybank send the gifts separately ?

latest update, on the same day, at 7pm, the same girl called me and said they will entitle me the cash rebate over the issue...the rebate will be reflected in my account within 10 days.....haha....i'm totally happy !! biggrin.gif

u all can read the T&C here...

clearly not mention anything about new-to-bank customer.....

but in their FAQ is difference....got new to customer thinggy...plus must apply only at their card center or pavilion..u all also can read it here...

but the leaflet i received together with my starter pack only has T&C...no FAQ..so based on the leaflet & T&C, i think i have a case for claiming the rebate......

T&C no 13
"These Terms and Conditions shall prevail over any provisions or representations contained in any promotional materials (including without limitation printed brochures, leaflets or flyers) advertising the Cash Rebate promotion."

but if i wanna fight also i think i lose because the have clause no 12 in T&C..
"EBG reserves the right, at anytime without prior notice, at its absolute discretion to vary, modify, change, delete or add to any of these Terms and Conditions and to extend, shorten, cancel, terminate or suspend the Cash Rebate campaign without being liable to the Cardholders for any loss or damage howsoever suffered or incurred by the Cardholders as a direct or indirect result of the exercise by EBG of any of its right reserved herein."

they can add anything they like in T&C......

by the way, i'm not over reacting...i just wanna give them run for my money...hehe...no harm to me as i'm the one using their facility....if they didnt give the rebate also i can just cancel the card la..

i applied for AMEX gold credit card during treat fair
but until now no news..
i called AMEX CS yesterday, she said my application is withdrawned with unknown reason..

sien.. where could i apply for this card again, wish to get it as soon as possible..

u can go to any maybank branch, or print out and fax/mail the application to them

i am working at a new place for only 4months and i planning to get my first credit card to assist me in auto billing. as i working in sales line, and my target bank is CIMB. my basic is rm1500. do you think can approve?? what is the use of emergency contacts?

if you are degree holder, then you can try to apply DA (CIMB too).

I just received a letter from Standard Chartered asking me to re-activate JustOne Current as I have zero balance or they will close it if the account not activated in the next 3 months.

Just wondering can I close the account & still using the JustOne CC or both will be closed. Anyone received similar letter.

Say if you have not been paying your bills... and you turn off/unplug your phone because you want to avoid anyone from the bank calling you, that's when they call your 'emergency contact'.

You should be able to apply for CIMB entry level card as the income requirement is RM18K per annum. Probably you need to furnish them with all the income documents including 3 months salary. What @cannavaro mentioned is right .... bank will call the emergency contacts if you decide to run away from your debt with them.

And at this stage where you probably do not have any credit history (new in the job market), highly likely the bank will call you and the emergency contact as part of the verification process. So ... don't give out some fake number coz if they can't call that number probably they will call you to give another number or worst .... just fail your cc application.

No ... I haven't received such letter yet although I have kept the account @ zero balance. (However, my card is still new) Their CS and even the people @ SCB counter kept on telling me that the account and card goes hand-in-hand. Cancel either one and you'll lose both.

You can try and see whether the bank will actually close the account or not if you continue to ignore the letter. I personally felt that the bank could have miscalculated the fact that people will actually put money in the JustOne current account or not.

1. You can't deactivate the feature if you need to. Imagine having 100K in that account, you lose your card ... and realise it only 24 hours later. How much damage can a thief do to your bank balance?
2. Since the bank give you credit facility, do you actually need to bother about the debit facility ? No really ... coz better use the bank's money. More logical for the bank to fight on your behalf in the event of a transaction dispute.
3. Some PR damage could have occured from the beginning as the bank force the cheque book onto you. Personally, I tried to decline the cheque book but the bank said no way.
4. To be fair, had anyone kept money in that account ... the interest rates is attractive and there's even a point for every RM10 you save.

I felt that you don't have any real compelling incentive to maintain the JustOne current account.

My account is not that old, about 2 months only. I will try to call their CS tomorrow & see what is their response.

I kept in Saadiq saver acc, I think the interest is higher. Due to this I also have no reason to kept this account unless without this account, CC need to cancel too.

yesterday called to 1300 88 66 88 to checks on my card status...

the CS told me that my card will be sending over via pos laju... while im insisting that im requesting for collection at branch!

the CS asked me back, how do you know about this collection thing?

WTF, im requesting during application...

really screw the MBB agent at TP fair!!! too bad, i have throw her name card...
