Yeah, E-P1 is quite expensive since its just introduced. And furthermore, price drop will be slow because of the demand is high.

But I don't dig 17mm f/2.8 anymore. Because 20mm f/1.7 has come out:

Any idea on how much it is?

was thinking of getting the zoom kitlens only for now.

Also maybe in the future, someone owning a G1 or from ebay, i want to get the 14-140. Just for the heck of it lol.

I agree with harry. SLR is not the only way to enjoy photography. I use all kinds of cameras n I do enjoy photography very much. Even old ancient film cameras are fun for me.

Can work oso pointless mar. FL-14 is most likely GN14 as most times they name it after GN power. The LX3 already has a GN11 built in flash so it'll be pretty pointless to buy a GN14 flash.

The 1599 package is pretty yummy. Well worth the 300 for the 17mm + VF.

From that price - the singaporeans are getting it a bit more expensive than us.

I just saw this and I'm getting very appalled again. WTF is this love-hate relationship with the E-P1...

"Watanabe explained the extent to which the company has gone to minimize size, including automatic correction of distortion: "We are doing distortion corrections. Panasonic is doing this and likewise we're doing the same to allow us to make the lens smaller."

LX3 redux? I want to puke. These people need to learn from either Ricoh or Sigma, just STFU and make proper optics.

p/s: If they forgo correction for the 17mm they're forgiven. biggrin.gif

why people keep thinking small size stuff good for blogger la? smile.gif

seriously it's not a matter of blog or not, it's a matter of preference (eg, convenience of carrying around vs blog content requirement)

personally i think a good phone camera is still best la for people who like to write about things.

goldfries, if I am not mistaken, Panasonic used to have a full size DSLR (aps-c). I was not famous at all... they probably had one model I think.

Even their marketing materials keep comparing this as a revolutionary DSLR replacement mar, that's why people are going to keep comparing it with DSLRs.

I think it was the Imaging Resource hands on that mentioned that the extra view finder is for the Ultrawide lens cause the Live View image cannot give a good depiction of the actual image taken. Though I'd have to wonder how bad is bad until they decided that they have to make an extra accesory for fixing the problem.

Technically the Panasonics weren't APS-C. They were both 4/3.

How can they call the lens ultrawide when the micro 4/3 is 2x crop factor. That makes the 17mm lens a 34mm lens. That's not even near wide angle in 35mm terms. Or have Olympus labelled the lenses specifically for the camera meaning the 17mm label is already after the 2x crop factor.

yes 17mm is not super wide...

7-14 is..so in 35mm equivalent it is 14mm wide..
