For those who got stuck in losing weight it's pretty simple, put in MORE efforts. Increase your exercise intensity/volume, reduce your calories intake. Basically, just work harder.

A calorie is not a calorie once ppl have insulin resistance. tongue.gif

That's why most of the time, in this thread, we always ask ppl to post up their meals during the day as well as their exercise plan and their BMI.

synchun : with 6 packs, hmmm... you may have to read up on it. google "The truth about abs" - they have a free booklet that you can use as a reference and free newsletter. Then go googling on how to get 6-packs. It's not exactly easy but possible with sheer determination.

priscilla : hmm..you may need to google a bit on strength training for ladies. There's quite a few websites around with free information.

to the both of you : one thing about this thread is that we can't exactly give you exact advice because there's quite a lot of different ways to go about it, depending on your goals. So ultimately, you would still need to have to read up about it.

Holyboyz : use this and tell us your BMI as a start.

http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopic=988437

The BMI calculator is not a do-all-end-all type of indicator but just a quick and rough gauge.

If you're near to the normal range of BMI and you just need to do toning, then it's a rework of your diet and fitness plan. Plus, you would need to drop a lot of fried food. You up to it?

BF is a better indicator but best used once you're nearer to your target weight.

moyong : The same applies for you. What's your BMI?

moyong: Your weight is quite ideal for your height. You aint fat neither your BF is high.

To get rid of the lil spare tyre, you may wanna do some cardio with some weight too...tone up abit......or bulk abit with proper diet...

Hmm....how big is that belly? If it's higher than 90 cm, then in the future, you might be developing insulin resistance and syndrome X, which are the precursors for type 2 diabetes.

Added on April 21, 2009, 9:47 ammoyong : also, can you post what is you usually eat? include the major meals, snacks, cooking method and portions. just agak-agak will do.

have you been eating more in recent years? or has it been the same intake? are you consuming beer or alcohol regularly and if so, how frequent?

cilakak...I remember clearly my beer belly is all becoz of beer intake plus those snack.........

alcohol is EMPTY CALORY....and it slows down a person metabolism rate. It distorts your dream to lose weight.

For those involve in the FATSO 30-Day Challenge, please try to stay away from alcoholic drinks. If you happen to drink, go easy....and compensate more with cardio the following day and keep yourself hydrated.

beer, hard liquor share the same effect?

i dont drink beer, maybe wine and hard liquor, but very rare occasion like half a year once. But once i drink usually it's a party and usually out of control, like more than half bottle per person.

half-yearly...I wont be worry about it......

the effect should be the same...empty calories...slow down metabolism....but their caloeries of each type of liquor could differ.

p/s: I am a beer lover.but now been reducing alot...

YES.....

drinking alcohol will dehydrate your body. Lesser water is not good for fat metabolism in the liver. The liver needs water.

alcohol will also lower metabolism rate.....i..e the next morning, if you eat the same breakkie, lunch and dinner, your body aint burning as much calory if you didnt drink.

and normally when you drink, you tend to munch something...ranging from peanuts, ikan bilis or chicken wing...those are fat and fried stuff....imagine the calory there?

One of the reasons why I stop alcohol binging was that I saw how a long-term drinkers face look like for a lady. I don't ever want to look like a person who is recovering from stroke.

At college time, my waist is 28inch.......after working, it hit 36inch.....due to lower metabolism rate, alcohol, sedentary lifestyle, more food available, laziness, etc..........we have to turn things around to stay healthy.

FAT is pretty biased.....They distribute even to your thigh, hand, back, arse, etc....but they do practice favouritism ....they gave more to the waist.........hehehe

Running will not require any equipment. Climbing stair will be a good choice....try Batu Caves.....pm...I can join u there.......

You may get a set of dumbbell to some weight stuff...for bicep, tricep, lat, shoulder, etc.........

If financially more stable, do consider joining a gym....go there for workoout......
