whatever is it, too many make conclusion without checking the right facts... which in here this case, i leave to all to judge, as i do not like to comment what others are doing.

too many want to go pulau tengah, everyone wanna piece of actions and i really don't encourage this, if u have so much to spend, without ever really helping the strays stranded there, i suggest better if put the money to good use, give it to TV Smith n Sabrina then... they needed them alot than getting fame for yourself.

Agreed. If you don't have the capacity to help save any of the dogs there (which means not only extracting them but also what to do with them after extracting them) you're better off just sitting at home and donating some money to FFF.

As for today Sherly managed to save 2 dogs from Pulau Tengah. She did pick up another 6 puppies that were given away by someone. At least they won't be contributing to the stray problem smile.gif

Although I am new here, I registered because I wanted to post appreciation to people like Sherly and Adrianck and their great many volunteers for actually saving these dogs from the hell hole. I myself, cannot do much except donate and transport donations to Furry Friends Farm. You are all unsung heroes and just by reading your posts and updates, I am getting teary because it is so heart-warming to know that the poor dogs are being rescued and on their way to a better life by these wonderful individuals and their team. Sherly and her team are sure one amazing rescue group, and so is Adrianck.

Both of your teams followed the correct procedures to rescue the dogs and all your sweat and effort paid off. A big good job well done !

Adrianck, I hope you and your volunteers will have a great time volunteering at FFF ! biggrin.gif

I have some news: A team of volunteers from Petsmore might be dropping by FFF this weekend or next weekend (Depending on the outcome of the meeting this evening) to see how they can assist.

Best thing is that we all sit down and discuss with Sabrina this Sunday on the best way to help control the stray population instead of barging into Ground Zero straight away.

Alright guys. Time for an update.

1. Keep this thread clean

What I mean is, this thread was created for the campaign "Save A Dog", led by Adrian, so it should remain that way. Don't get me wrong, I'm not interested in politic-ing (some might think I want to distinguish the campaign from others and claim the credits). Sharing information is great, but when there's too much, it causes confusion. People will be be confused with the two different campaign updates. (the Pulau Tengah and Pulau Ketam).

2. Visit to FFF

During our online meeting last night, we concluded that we're going to visit FFF on Sunday, as mentioned by Adrian before this. We're going to seek advice from Sabrina, regarding the settlement for the strays once we got them in hand.

More updates to come, after I finish my breakfast. smile.gif

I was actually wondering if she was mentioning sherly's team. If she is then she made a mistake cos to be fair sherly funded their own operation and they did saved some dogs. And for those who really hopped on to a boat for only a sightseeing to Pulau Tengah, they deserved to be bitten by a snake.
*
Thank you very much. Don't worry as my team have only four girls inclusive of me. The other three are nurses as I requested them to come along in helping for medication helps for the members. I've worked very hard to get the funds for this trip, it's never easy to raise funds, especially in charity. My members did a lot of contribution and I'm so thankful to some of my friends who did not manage to join in for the trip yet they've done a large contribution to make this work.

QUOTE(verx @ May 14 2009, 03:52 PM)
Sherly's team (she has about 35 ppl including vets and doctors) fund their own operations. Sherly is also in regular contact with Sabrina to update her on how many she has saved. Pummkin was mentioning some other reckless individuals.
*
I'm on a daily contact with Sabrina.

Well, no one knows if everyone wanna piece of actions, there are a lot who are very keen in helping and willingly to help too, but of course there are some black sheep around.

Yes, today we've managed to get 2 of the strayed dogs as both also injured, in fact we also help other teams to get some dogs. It's not a competition of how many dogs we can get but it's about how much can we do for them.

Thanks MTD. Thank you so much for your compliments. Guess, I just wish to share something at this late hour.

I'm actually very tired. As of my team of 35 members, 2 of them got infection due to the cuts on their body, 4 of them fell sick due to tiredness or may be weather, and others are seriously exhausted. It sounds like an easy job or may be fun thing for a lot of people but it's seriously hard, difficult, tough and dangerous. Actually all volunteers(not just my team but I mean everyone there) are risking their life to go to that hell island, face all the poison snakes, viruses and so on to save those dogs. There were so many incidents that happened, make me feel so tired. I'm tired of those people, who do things for the sake of popularity, I'm tired of those people who are not sincere in charity. In this rescue mission, is not just about physically tired but also mentally. How would you feel when you see bunch of dogs get stuck in the branches with snakes and you can't do anything about it? On our first day, we found a group of dogs (about 5 of them), we couldn't get them out because they were stuck with the branches, we got no choice and thought we could threw them some food and buy some time and get them out with weapon equipped the next day. Unfortunately, the next day when we went there again, I saw one of it died. Yes, some people might feel sad when hearing this, but what happen to those who experience this by themselves? I cried almost every night and couldn't sleep at all because I was disturbed by all this.

We manage to get 2 today and while we went off for lunch, I found a box of 6 cute puppies on the road side. I took all of them back. I just done argument with my family as I've got enough of pets at home, they disagree for me to bring in more as they think I should have consider about myself first. I insisted to keep the very last puppy that no one adopt him. It is now sleeping peacefully beside me while I'm typing all this with tears. I start to think, why are there so many people like to do things without the sincerity in heart? Don't they feel ashamed?

I'm not doing any charity event for popularity. Well, in real life, most person in charge of the homes that I know, which is countless, they do not know who is skysherly but I gave them a name to call me. They even promoted me to the welfare department, invited me with some functions of minister of home or whatever welfare department people, at the end of the day, they still do not know who am I but they know who can they call when they need any help. People here and also my team of members, they only know me as skysherly, a little girl who likes to go around to do all this work; at the end of the day, they will never what is my real identity as well. There were a few reporters interviewed me before but is there any need of publish to promote about me while it's not promoting for the home? No, I am not giving any credits to myself but I'm telling this out as a fact and to let people think, what is charity all about. A few of the people who really know me, they know, I won't even mind to risk my life for charity but I mind if anyone is doing charity sincerely or not.

Why are we talking so much here while there's no action taken? I'm sorry to Adrian again that I invaded your thread for all this stupid sharing again, but I was in an excited mood to share about my trip to the hell island and now I just wish to pour out a little bit of my thoughts after I've read all the replies here and also my experiences for this few days. I just hope people who are reading this, please be considerate to all volunteers there, even Adrian also put in a lot of effort in getting people to set up for the dog rescue campaign, I believe Adrian also had sleepless night too.

People, let it be Sabrina, Smith, Adrianck or even sKySherly, is that so important for the name? Overall we are only doing it for the dogs, for the living creature on Earth. If there is any support, welcome! Please support! If there's any disagreement, well, I'm sorry. We are not doing it for anyone to agree with what we are doing but we are doing it for the sake of charity.

Guess, I'm really running out of energy and don't know what am I talking already. I'm tired and good night, sorry for my long post. Please forgive me for the crap, I guess my heart and mind are still in the hell island, get stuck together with the dogs by the branches.

Sorry.

Btw,

Please refrain from post that is unrelated to the project. I hate wasting my time searching through unrelated post just to find updates on activities and I believe the rest of us feels the same way too.

Hi everyone, this is Adriene (not sure with the exact spelling), a survivor of the Hell Island, Pulau Tengah.

user posted image

At about 4.20pm today, Terrance (or better known as TV Smith) found out there’s a rescued dog left at Perlabuhan Klang, along with the cage. He managed to get a volunteer (I’m sorry I couldn’t remember his name) to find and secure them. We acted as the emergency dispatch, and delivered the dog to Furry Friends Farm.
