I turned off the breathing light in tools/profile. But when the screen becomes black, how come the time become "stuck"? The time did not moved forward, it display the time when the screen become black

Don't think it takes up much battery life...

I suspect the battery drained very fast due to the WiFi still "alive" in the backgroundn eventhough the Wifi seaching is OFF.

you're suppose to install it via pc suite sync, not mass storage. if you use mass torage, meaning you're only transfering the .sis files, then you would need to use your application manager to install the .sis files of the theme.

please read through the FAQ on the theme sites, they have lotsa user guides on how to install.

yea.. i m having the wifi still "alive" although i have off it.. any idea wat apps tat keep it "alive"??

There's the myth and even it hits me that some "lucky owner" E71 can last a battery life of 2-3 or even some 4-5 days, but recently many claims that it only last 1-2days (mine is 1day ) So it's not acceptable to me atleast, tht a new phone with new bat will last only 1 day. Seniors feedback it's cause of Garmin XT software. so..

Bro's, i did some survey on the "cardrunner" file, my findings is below, see if any senior or bros here can give some comment.

1) The cardrunner is claim for the garmin service background application that relate to "location message" or something. (So i guess it's not THAT important and can be deleted)

2) The opt of deleting the cardrunner.dll and even termination of trautostart.exe is a temporary solution as u need to kill / delete it after u start garmin again (If so, it'll still be a headache, even it's heartbreaking that our E71 can't use a good software) Some even downgrade to Ver 4.

3) There's saying that above procees is due to garmin xt V500.20, but V500.30 and above have the opt in tools, system to "disable backgroud process" (a more better and easy way to solve the problem) but not confirm the trautostart.exe will still run?

4) Any other method / found issues that might drain the bat life causing beloved E71 charge everyday?

Above will be what i found, and i haven gave a full test..but i'll start on the method 3 first, i wonder any 1 have feedbacks and really can testify, but i'll still change the bat 1st(cause last 1 day only )don't it breaks yr heart?

Added on August 5, 2009, 4:45 pmBro's here, there's another situation encounter with my new E71 that maybe u guys might know or can feedback.

1) My phone battery level will NOT decrease during usage(means no decrease of bars) but after 1 day of standby, it'll DIRECT show low bat with only 1 bar left, i tried to ignore it to see it's a false warning, but it did drained off and off phone after 2 hrs. Any idea why the bat bar not showing of decreasing

2) Since it's already V300, updated firmware bros, any problem with it? i heard some said it's abit faulty / not smooth. Cause i think of upgrade but have to make sure it has the correct language i want (Malay, Eng, Chi..) cause mine is AP and use Euro code...updated once and give me headache of not chi support.

Those days my E71 can last 5-7 days if I seldom use the phone. Now I've subscribed to unlimited data plan, it can only last 2 days max!! :-P

Finally, got E71 steel grey zitron set. TS, pls.put me in the list.

my battery can't last more than 2 days, since the time i bought it. i hardly use it at all. i followed all the tips at the 1st page. the wifi, that could be it, i turned it off too

All sorts of ways have been used to try to maximize the battery life, the most and best we could get is average 2 days.

Sad...but that's reality for us E71 user here and even same goes to those iPhone 3GS user..where the battery life is average 2 days also.

honestly, if the phone can last me 1 day plus i'm happy already.

put it this way, issit really that important that your phone can last 3-4 days? what do you get out of it? to be honest, i feel it's just bragging rights.

as long as my phone can last me 1 full day, then i'm fine with it. charge it when i go to sleep, and good to go for another full day.

how much does a battery cost? RM1xx? lets say if it can last you 1 year before you need to change. that'll be like rm10 a month.

for all you know, you might even be changing your phone before the battery really dies on you.

so what's the big fuss about battery life not lasting for 4-5 days?

the most important thing is tat the phone get things done.. like now.. i jus rely on my e71 as my laptop jus got stolen.. lucky some of the important data of mine is in my phone.. guess hav to work from phone now..

thanks, but i really don't mean to insult anybody. just feel that this battery issue is being blown out of proportion.

same here, my phone is my work horse. alot of important data. hence i've made use of all the security features like sms lock etc. hehehe

but i was wondering, what if someone stole my phone, turn it off, took out my sim card, and replace it with theirs. will the sms lock still function?

hi all...i have noticed one thing about E71 battety life....last week i did send out a lot of sms and did a lot of call..and my battery drained so fast...so for me it is still ok since i knw tat its because of my heavy usage...but for those who really dun used their phone for sms or calls (just for display hehehe)..better go back to NSC to check the phone....

In a day, I make + receive just over an hour worth of calls. But I send and receive lots of sms, and check my gmail often via WiFi and Maxis 3G combined (the reason why I needed a QWERTY phone in the first place). Occasional camera use, GPS rarely.

I recently updated my phone to the latest firmware (ver 300 something...), but phone is stock otherwise. The only app that I have installed is youtube.

Phone is a Black Steel local Avaxx set.

Battery lasts me 2 days solid, and it has been that way since I bought it in May...

good to hear that. im on the older version and my battery also last 2+ day solid. depends on my usage. more to sms. one day around 300 - 500 smses:)
