HI Guys,

Besides machines, are they any other reliable shops I can go to upgrade my RAM & HDD on my Mac Book Pro?

I am sure pricing other than Machines would be much cheaper....

Thanks for the assistance.

VRTech will charge you around RM50 to replace RAM & HDD .. just bring your own RAM module and HDD .. call them first and make an appointment.

I'm using a I7 Imac.
My current ram is 4gb. I'm thinking of upgrading it to 8gb or more.
I usually use it for architecture design. I'm a total noob, therefore I need someone that can install the ram for me.

Is there a good shop in LY that can do that for me? Or do you think it's more worth it to let Machine handles it.

1. you missed out an important step.
go check the sofware you use, does it support > 4 GB RAM. if it doesn't, you'll have additional RAM that's just sitting there doing nothing.

2. if your Mac is under warranty, do remember that the additional RAM has separate warranty. If you buy from shop in LY... get them to install it & test. there's no guarantee that it will work fine.
buying from Machines or any other Apple Premium Reseller will have a 'it just works' guarantee smile.gif

Hi. I wasn't sure which thread I was supposed to ask this question in, so apologies if this shouldn't be asked here. I'm thinking of creating a separate bootable copy of Mac and Windows in a USB flash drive. Any recommendations for the best type of USB (what brand?), most suitably available in KL? Of course, it would be great if someone could direct me to the right place to purchase it.

Also, to reiterate ed0gawa's question, I'm also looking for an external dvd drive for my mbp and wanted to consult the pros - you guys XD, on that matter. Any low-priced, portable dvd players around?

you think = bad answer. go check the website before buying...

its strange, you're willing to spend so much money without making sure that the thing you buy will work or not.
