@lailaikatong
Thanks fr the info, but then is that every DDR3 are compatible with MBW? Sorry noob question >.<
Hmmm,anyone install RAM urself before? Is that very hard to do? Coz i scare i ll ruined everythig. lolz.
All of the RAM listed there meets the specifications outlined on page 46 of the user guide (
http://manuals.info.apple.com/en_US/MacBoo...Late2009_UG.pdf, so yes they are all compatible with the MBW.
Plenty of people have installed their RAM themselves, including me. Read the user guide before you attempt the upgrade. If you think you can't do what's instructed, or if you don't have the proper tools, get someone else to do it for you.

Hi all Mac expert here,
I'm going to get one MBP unibody 13inch with the lowest spec and plan to upgrade the RAM and HDD myself later. I have a few questions need to ask.
1st question:
Seeing most of the ppl here still struggling on which RAM to buy for upgrade, perhaps maybe I should straight upgrade to 2x2GB RAM right from Apple store? I'm buying using educational price so the upgrade of the RAM cost RM323 and they are Apple certified RAM. However, I would really like to hear the opinions of all Mac experts here
At RM323, it's worth it to upgrade the ram directly from Apple when you order the computer. The price for 2x2GB from computer stores in KL is more or less the same, so you won't be saving much if you upgrade it yourself.2nd question:
For the HDD, I read some review (I remember is from macperformanceguide.com but duno which section d) saying that the overall performance of Hitachi Travelstar 5K500.B is better than WD 500GB Scropio Blue (no offence to those who are using WD

). Just wonder anyone had tried both HDD before and mind to share their opinion?
I haven't tried the Hitachi, but I'm using a WD Scorpio Blue in my MBP. No issues, but then again I'm not sure what sort of 'performance' you're after.3rd question:
Also, it seems like upgrading the RAM and HDD myself will not void the warranty from Apple right? Do I need to keep the original RAM and HDD then swap them back to my MBP when I send back to Apple for warranty claim?
RAM and HDD are user upgradable parts, upgrading them won't void your Mac's warranty unless you break something in the process. The warranty will not cover the parts you installed yourself, so if your hard drive crashes don't expect it to be replaced under AppleCare. You won't need to swap the original parts back in unless the issue is caused by the user installed RAM/HDD.4th question:
Regarding ACPP, I'm abit confuse about the years of warranty it provides. Is it total of 3 years from the date I purchase (1yr without ACPP plus 2yrs with ACPP) or total of 4 years from the date i purchase (1yr without ACPP plus additional 3yrs with ACPP)?

highly appreciate your opinions.
