Morning guys, wanna ask if MAS delay for 3hours and 15minutes, can I claim or any type of compensation from MAS? The delay was without any reason, only SMS me on the retime right 6 hours prior to depart. Ask the check in counter and they say unsure what is the reason for the retimed. I suspect MAS probably cancel the flight and merge with the next two flight.

i believe you have to get travel insurance first before you can claim anything

you better call and ask they to amend it instead of leaving it to the last minute. typo in name is kinda sensitive compare to typo in passport number

i'd ban MAS from now on  cool.gif

On the contrary. Because of this incident, KLIA will be a damn secure airport and Malaysia Airlines will be a very safe airline to fly with. The whole world is eyeing Malaysia Airlines now and they have no choice but to buck up safety to improve the flying public's trust.

At least for a few years until people forget and Malaysians go back to the never mind attitude... biggrin.gif

1. Improve the process. Have quarterly psychiatric evaluations for all pilots. 6 months between evaluations might be too long. If the cause of psychiatric problems is within MH itself, can it be reduced/fixed?
2. Other airlines will have similar problems biggrin.gif
3. Agents of SHIELD are available for hire. Time to put them on each flight?

For passengers to international or regional destinations with or without check-in baggage, please be present at the MAS Check-in or Rework Counter NOT LATER than 60 minutes to departure for travel documents verification and web check-in boarding pass endorsement.

You are advised to arrive early at the check-in counter to ensure you have enough time for travel document verification and web check-in boarding pass endorsement, baggage check-in, security, immigration process and other airport formalities Malaysia Airlines reserves the right to cancel your check-in if you have not endorsed your
web check-in boarding pass in time, or if you fail to arrive at the departure gate in time, or if you do not have the valid travel documents.

Here you go. Still, it would be wise to go earlier. Let's say 45 minutes earlier at least. That is cutting it really close there too. smile.gif

Check-in time. Since you have already done your check-in online, there should not be any issues after you have checked-in. Just proceed to your gate as usual. thumbup.gif

Guys, I have a question.

I am currently on Enrich and will be travelling on Qantas quite frequently. My question is, how does the qantas points translate into Enrich? Will I still earn Elite points or Elite sectors if I fly on Qantas?

I do understand that qantas points will be translated 25% into enrich, but what do they mean by that?

Thanks a lot

Only if you are booked into an eligible fare class. Some deeply discounted Qantas Airways economy class ticket may not be eligible for Enrich miles accrual.

Some economy class ticket will only earn 25% of the actual miles flown.

Oh yes. You definitely do as the booking code Y is a full fare economy class ticket.

Me and my wife are frequent flyer (MAS) because she always follow me fly to Sabah return meet my family.
20+ times a year (Kota Kinabalu or Sandakan).
I never apply enrich card before and i wasted a lot of enrich point for the past 2-3 years. If i apply last 2-3 years ago, i would have 100k+ points toady.

My question is:-
a) Do i get enrich point for me and my wife or only under my name? Or I should ask my wife to apply enrich card too?

b) Let say i miss my flight, do i still get my enrich point? Point is based on flight fly or purchase of ticket?

each passenger should have their own enrich card. it is free to apply. why not.

miss flight before check-in, then you will not get any miles/point
miss flight after check-in, then you might be able to get miles/point but it is case by case basis. the miles/point is based on check-in. no check in, no point.

If you usually booked the promo fare (domestic flights only) between 2009 - 2011, then you didn't loss much as all promo fares for domestic flights weren't eligible for mileage accrual.

a) 1 unique membership number for everyone. You can only earn Enrich miles for your own ticket booked under your own name. And yes, you should get your wife an Enrich membership too.

b) If you missed your flight, you will earn no Enrich Miles. Enrich Miles is credited ONLY after you have completed the flight.

Not quite so. If you have already checked-in but you missed the flight, no miles will be awarded.

Miles award is actually based on boarding. If you did not board the flight, you would not be eligible for any miles.

Most booking classes (most codes even for EY) are now eligible for Enrich miles accrual. Yes, even the deeply discounted ticket will now also earn you Enrich miles but at lower rate (50% of the actual miles flown). Basically any ticket purchased directly from MAS (even if the total return ticket cost you just RM200 or so) or travel agencies (not tour group related) will earn you Enrich miles thumbup.gif
