I recently booked a flight to LAX for this coming august and the enrich points has not been updated. Does this means the points went missing or I'll need to wait till the flying date, then only the enrich points will be updated?

Typically you need to fly then only the miles will be credited. This is cos even though you have the flight booked, you could still change or cancel.

I flew MAS from KUL to Perth on their 777 a few days ago, was surprised that the economy seats quite a lot of room! Even my 6-foot frame also plenty of space to move around.

Is mas strict with their carry on luggage??

very strict if you're flying from australia. the ground handlers at perth forced me to check in my bag even though it was only 6kg

Anyone buy MAS ticket via Agent before? I bought my MAS tix through online travel agent zuji.com; seems to be confirmed but I can't login to MAS website using the confirmation code + Last Name combo. wonder is this normal for MAS.

You guys all bought tix directly from MAS? I bought my upcoming one to Sydney/Melbourne via online travel agent ... I guess not eligible.

Eh I tried again then can access my itinerary liao. Made an offer for SG - Sydney and Melb - SG of sgd700 per person for both ways - super minimum price lol. Don't think I'll get it but who knows icon_idea.gif

I got it too. RM300 per way for taiwan. hahahah forget it lah. seems like everyone is getting it. not exclusive also

Don't think it's designed to be exclusive. Airlines bump their frequent flyers / random economy class people for free all the time when they're overbooked so that they can fit more people in the plane. I guess MAS is now trying to entice us to pay "something" for that upgrade hmm.gif I mean, why upgrade someone for free if he'll pay RM xyz for it? icon_idea.gif

did u bid for it?

Yeah, bid the most minimum amount, which was sgd300 (I am flying from SG) icon_idea.gif I hope I get the newer A330's which have the angled flat seats rather than the older 45deg recline ones though icon_idea.gif

lipoting from sydney. biggest advantage of biz class, by far, is the priority / express pass they give you to use at sydney immigration, skipped like 200 people queue'ing at the peasant lane tongue.gif

the a330 seat was, surpisingly, somewhat uncomfortable for sleeping. it's angle lie flat and i kept sliding down and needing to wake up to push myself back up. chef on call food wasn't great either.

Hallo guys, reporting back after SG - Sydney ... Melb - KL trip. Sat 3 different aircraft, B737-800, A330-300, B777-200, all biz class. Total cost SGD 1,214.89 (MYR 3,148.43) per pax cos of cheap MH upgrade icon_idea.gif

The SG-KL routes on 738 really way too short flight to appreciate but we benefit from the golden lounge access (especially on the return leg which we had 3+ hour layover in KLIA).

user posted image

The A333 and B772, of cos biz class very nice but I think the cabins are showing their age with angled-lie-flat seats vs MAS other premium competition like SQ, Qatar etc which are all in process of upgrading fleet to fully flat beds liao.

user posted image

Having said that, SQ Biz Class to Aussie and back is like at least triple the price of what we paid for MAS so ... no complaints lah brows.gif

I got MH upgrade offer to upgrade to biz class for minimum of 200/pax.
I am travelling 2 adult and 1 toddler. For 3 hour flight, is it worth? Will upgrading for toddler be a waste since they dont need the extra legroom and better food?

QUOTE(annielee @ Dec 1 2014, 04:12 PM)
you still can bid.. and decide not to pay if your bid is successful..

Don't think it works like that. At time of placing bid you need to key in credit card details already. Around ~48hrs earlier then you will get a mail whether your bid accepted or not. If accepted they automatically charge your card.

Anyway rm200/pax for 3 hour flight, I think worth it lo.

so your total ticket price is S$515 + S$1215 ?

$515 economy
+$50x2 (SG-KL upgrade)
+$300x2 (KL-Syd/Melb-KL upgrade)
= $1215 total.

i face this so many times with MAS, dunno what system they implement.

yah. it seems that as long as u book using any external travel agent (or online fare comparison website like zuji or cheaptickets) then cannot manage via web. didn't know that book via mobile also cannot, dafug.

MAS enrich page is so lousy and slow too compared to other carriers frequent flyer sites.

QUOTE(Soony @ Dec 26 2014, 09:36 AM)
KUL to HKG and offered the lowest price of RM300.

rm300 damn cheap eh. my upgrade options were rm130 (SG to KL) and rm780 (KL to SYD / MEL to KL).

Does anyone here understands how codeshare flights in Malaysia Airline works? Like how do you book them? For example, its easier for me to fly from KL to Phuket to Bangkok to KL rather than Kl - Phuket - KL - Bangkok - KL

You go MAS website (or cheaptickets.com, etc etc) and input 'multi city itinerary' (or something like that). Then you book 3 flights like you mentioned. If MAS doesn't fly any of the legs but has codeshares, it will still give you a "MHxxxx" flight number and mention somewhere "codeshare by Bangkok Airways" that means u pay MAS but that leg it will book you on bangkok airways flight.

Need opinion. Is it really necessary to buy MHInsure? From the policy, looks like very hard to claim also. So many restrictions. But worried a bit if don't buy. Anyone got experience on this, share pls.

Normally I buy proper travel insurance and ignore the airline one.

I'm looking at MAS flight Delhi - Melbourne, which included a transit at KL
If I'm not able to make it to Delhi, can I take only KL-MEL which is exactly the transit flight in the booking?  just let the DEL-KL burn

QUOTE(Soony @ Jan 27 2015, 09:15 PM)
Unless you dont have any check in luggage, the answer is no.

In this case I think even if no check in luggage the answer is also no. If kalichap wanna take Del - KL and get off halfway, no luggage then still can. But he wants to take the 2nd leg of the flight only ... I'm fairly certain when he no show at Delhi they will cancel his KL-Melbourne leg as well.
