Ok guys need some advice here.

I need to run CS4 (mainly Illustrator) and I'm thinking of getting iMac 24' entry level.

I haven't run CS apps on Macs b4, so any experience soul out there can tell me the diff of running CS on Macs vs PC?

And any1 heard anything about new / refresh of iMacs coming out soon?

Thanks.

just be sure they are apple authorised reseller. try calling each of them up to check on freebies n compare. if u r not sure if they are authorised apple reseller, try check in apple malaysia's web site.

oh ya, and u might wanna wait for 1 month or so since there are numerous rumors that imac is going to be refreshed soon

i wanted 2 buy an 24" 2.66ghz imac today, but what I heard is that the new lineup is about to be announced. Is this true? I actually put the purchase on hold until it's official.

Well, no one will know for certain other than Apple themselves when the new iMacs will be out. But it does seem to make sense that the iMacs will be updated soon with the new processors from Intel already rolling out to consumers.

I guess if you got a good deal on the 2nd hand unit and don't mind the fancier new units, go ahead.

The included OS DVD Install were the OEM version. It only fit to the Mac where it comes from IF Im were not mistaken. You can buy the Retail version from the local distro.

Although i wont disagree that there is a new imac in the pipeline, it is highly unlikely that it would be revolutionary. In fact, my favourite Imac of all time is Imac G4 "iLamp" tongue.gif I find it incredibly difficult to believe that quadcore to come into imac and eat into Mac Pro's market. It doesn't make sense although it can be true. All the other stuff like sd slot, new mouse and remote aren't that significant. Im sure there are people are NOT using the mighty mouse now and trust me, it probably make no difference to their apple experience anyway. If you can hold, then just hold on, rumours is that it is soon but it is pretty much spontaneous.

Rumours exist because of the product life cycle is almost up. That estimation is based on the time it took Apple to change previous versions.

Hope that helps. Cheers

One of the main reason why Apple Laptops cost more than regular laptops because Apple Laptops come with the Mac OS X and the iLife 09 where as Malaysia seem to be openly selling "Free-Dos" Lappies out there. Unless you're paying RM619 less than RRP (The price of a Mac Box Set) (http://store.apple.com/my/product/MACBOX-101801?mco=Nzk2MTEyNA), you are being ripped off!

iMac obviously more display, you'll get more out of it.

do you need it to be a mobile editing : you don't have a studio / office? > MacBook Pro

if you have a office / studio / home > get iMac ...
