This is a myth. MacOSX has virus just like every other OS. It just that hackers tends to target the biggest group, which is the Windows platform. In fact, i read some test and review done not too long ago, VISTA is actually more secured than Mac OSX.
And frankly, this 'better for multimedia' isn't true either. But MAC OSX does have the best presentation and clean interface. I enjoyed my Hackintosh...lol.
Typical Windows user. Vista is way less secure compared to OSX. Its a fact , if you say Windows 7 - I would agree. Every OSes they are flaws ,what differs with OSX is that Darwin (the kernel and most of the part of the OS are open-source compared to close source counterparts).

why many ppl tend to say MAC is far more superior than PC in multimedia things?? is that so??
jz an example, b4 SL.. ppl tend to say multimedia software such as CS, illustrator and bla bla run better in MAC. is it?
Windows hv 64bit system way earlier than OSX, which program can use more ram than a MAC, run more effectively
and in term of hardware, most of the multimedia PC system even hv a better GPU compare with a MAC.
so why mac is better in multimedia things???
sorry,if i gv wrong info...
64-bit support in OSX was there for a long time ago (
http://www.appleinsider.com/articles/08/10...the_kernel.html ). Don't get me started on x86_64 and PAE. OSX makes use of PAE , again thats why its possible to have MacPro up to 32GB running on 32-bit (however due to kernel limitation , there are few limitations. It wasn't possible for 32-bit , even with PAE turned on to address. This is because of the nature of the WIndows OS , thats why Windows released 32-bit and 64-bit version.
The reason why it runs better goes back to history as it started it for mac and people still have to say that it runs way better then in OSX. Its history, just like how Windows is now currently.
OSX makes use of graphics card very well , now with OpenCL (aka CUDA) , programs can take advantage of GPU power in Macs to do things faster. PC users have it more , but lets see how developers use it in Mac !
