oh yes mate. someone has already told me a little secret in regards to your iPhone 3G S acquisition (senyap senyap dibelakang pintu eh? flex.gif )

man, all the 5 oz network providers (yes it is all 5 this round! optus, virgin, telstra, vodafone and '3') have yet to release any official pricing/plans. no one is willing to expose their cards with the immerse competition locally.

I would appreciate co-operation from everyone to only keep this thread posted on news regarding the OS 3.0 AND the iPhone 3G[S] only. After all, that is what the thread title is about. All jailbreaking and news related to jailbreaking, please proceed to that pinned thread on top of the iPhone forum. I don't want to have to ask DG to keep on cleaning this thread of these "excursions".

Also, since the telcos are closely tied to the procurement of the iPhone 3G[S}, news about them, their pricing plans, are also relevant to this thread. Anything else, please post them on the relevant threads. I dont want to posters to inadvertantly turning this thread into anything other than what it is intended.

they better soon to be honest. apparently the sale of iPhone 3G S this round (at least for the launch day) will take place only in the apple retail stores.

i just hope that the queue will not be held, by indecisive buyers (like myself) outweighing all the 5 network offers. dah-lah it is a chore, determining the plan itself and contract length (and yes, i will be bringing a big arse calculator along)

Haha I think they might still struggling with the pricing. It appears that everyone (well not everyone but most) is quite unhappy about the initial (leaked) pricing of tethering on whirlpool. I've managed to activate tethering on Optus and used up quite a bit of my included data. Hopefully I won't end up getting charged extra.

Imagine this.

Bill for June:
Dear sir,

We've noticed that you have been tethering secretly behind our backs. Therefore we are pleased to inform you that an additional AUD9.99 will be charged along with your recent bill under the category - 'Premium Services'.

Yours truly,
some weird@$$ name sign

Resistance is futile, any attempt to keep your money from us will end with you being charged an additional 25AUD late payment fee

Anyway I think it's kinda ridiculous for them to charge us extra for tethering. What say you? hmm.gif

=.=" calm down bro. That was only a theoretical scenario created by me. We don't know what Optus would do right? I'll find out soon anyway. My billing cycle ends on the 21st monthly. Apparently there are some who proposed complaining to Optus so that they can get out of their current contract should Optus impose charges on tethering.

Update regarding A2DP on iPhone OS 3.0.

For those who are very particular about sound quality out of iPhone using the NEW A2DP profile...
think no more!

The bluetooth connection retains all the sound signature of the headphone jack. No quality loss as far as I can hear.

Sony DRC-BT15 + Westone ES3X = Wireless Sonic Bliss!

@blugear,
#1: U are on Maxis
#2: U updated carrier network settings

What you need to do is to create a fake APN profile.
