Do you experience any minor issues or youtube malfunction?
I heard of this on iTouch.
No problem at all, in terms of everything?

It appears quite a lot of people do experience some sort of problem after the 3.0 upgrade. I myself find it a little laggy while moving from page to page as well. So the question is... can we expect another update from apple? Like a small fix to the current 3.0? hmmm....

last itme when i using 2.2.1 it always do thing like that. i usually press sleep/wake button then slide to unlock then after that the brightness will "high" again. i think its due to the auto brightness from iphone. and when you slide to unlock it will take time to readjust the brightness especially at night.

p/s: it also happen to me at night. but for 3.0 im not sure because not yet sms at dark/dimm light room...

Can i ask how you resolve this item when the backlight is wont turn ON at all? force shut down or got other solution?

@CRSSR,
I believe you're facing the issue because your SIM is locked. All U need to do is SIM unlock the phone manually and let it search for network. When network's active, it will automatically continue to install 3.0 to your phone.

Hope it works! smile.gif

@nokia2003,
I like to be able to contribute as and when I can; what to do?! I'm just helpful biggrin.gif

yes. the setting already been configured automatically and you are ready to use your mms and tethering. anyway the carrier setting for maxis must be maxis 4.0 then it can work. if not you can't mms or tethering or both. ( the carrier setting can be seen on setting>general>about...mine was 4.0 and can mms and tethering.)

Hi TakanoKyohei,

I have tested the MMS and is working fine but as for tethering purpose,all I have to do is to attach my Iphone to my laptop using the Iphone USB cable,right?

Thanks.

Oops,kindly ignore this post... wub.gif as I just found the answer... rclxub.gif

If you have apps that introduces Push Notification, make sure you get that at least once. That may be the reason why your battery drains faster. Your iPhone is struggling to push those notification for the first time to your relevant app, and couple that with low signal strength, that takes a toll on your battery endurance. I use AP News app to get my daily news for my place back in the States, and it has been a whole before the first notification arrives. Before that happens, I left the iPhone charging in area where the iPhone struggles to latch on to 3G network. The new firmware apparently have problems switching between GSM and 3G smoothly and when I checked back, the pop-up stating that the iPhone has problems connecting to my preferred network comes out. Only after I manually pick "My Celcom" network and toggle the 3G switch off then on again, that I get my first notification from AP News. After this, battery drain remains normal. Which is why I suspected the Push Notification being the culprit.

Also, until you get your first push notification, the "Push Notification" option will not be available on the Settings page.

Not sure if anyone has encountered this problem before but after Ienable tethering over USB and I onnect the phone to my computer, the computer briefly detects it and my phone's tethering option just goes *POOF*. I have to remove the profile, re-install the profile, restart phone, enable tethering and again, it goes missing. Am I doing something wrong here?

@ harmeet15

thanks for the video. appreciate it.

personally i have seen a lot of these video comparisons, but i still think it is not fair to compare these two iPhones side by side without making the contents constant.

so far i have not seen any comparison report that compares a "stock" 3G and another "stock" 3G S or an equally match data and contents.

obviously it is the 3G (being the older one) that contains significantly more data bundled inside its memory, and hence causing an even significant lag that it is supposed to be.

yes i saw that video too, coincidentally.

the iPhone 3G that was being used, belongs to the male host; brian tong and his iPhone contains a lot of crap inside (i know because i watch his shows regularly tongue.gif tongue.gif tongue.gif )

on the other hand, the iPhone 3G S was almost fresh from the box.

That browsing speed on the CNET video is skewed towards Palm based on what WWAN network both devices are connected. Notice that the Pre is using Sprint's network, while the iPhone is using AT&T. That introduces the variable that does not put both devices on equal footing. If both devices are loggeed onto one singular Wifi access point, that would give a more credible comparison about the browser speed. We all know how crowded the AT&T wireless network is, compared to the relative loneliness of Sprint's. tongue.gif

oh yes, we have all heard about the misery that AT & T inflict upon the american iPhone users.

frankly speaking, after listening/reading all the AT & T horror stories, you will begin to wonder if maxis is all that bad, for starters (however malaysians will always be malaysians; the moaning never stops and the love to relate everything to political incompetency)
