I am using SingTel set with Maxis (not official iPhone plan).
I just did normal upgrade. Carrier settings changed to Maxis 4.0
Went to Messages, camera icon automatically there. Tested send out MMS no problem
Then went to Settings -> General -> Network -> Internet Tethering
At first ask to either call Maxis or got to Maxis website. I was perplexed. Then I went to the same screen again. Now I can either turn on or off the tethering.
Once it has been turned on, now its time for pairing with your computer (Bluetooth) I went to my notebook's (VIsta) Bluetooth Devices and clicked Add. Windows will detect as a phone. Select to add. The screen will show you some pin no. Key in that no into your iphone. Once you have keyed in, your phone will appear in the list of Bluetooth devices.
Next step, go to Network and Sharing Center. Select Setup a new connection. After that a dialog box will appear, select Bluetooth Personal Area Network (PAN). After you click next, it will ask you which device. Select the device that you have added earlier. Then Click Connect. Wait for few seconds and your tethering is up and running. Well at least for me. Hope this helps

The only problem is that I don't seem to be getting any data coming in; so need to re-check! *siGh* I just tried my USB tethering, actually I am replying using that. Worked perfectly, just had to plug it in and then Vista configured the device and the network and everything is in working order. I have iTunes 8.2 installed which has Bonjour which would explain why. |
