Hi,

Now is already 17th June in US but still no 3.0 update in itunes. While waiting for the update, am create this topic to further discuss the new OS 3.0 only.

In case any of you manage to get 3.0 updated, please make a post here.

The common practice is to not restore from you backup and set the iPhone as new for new firmwares. Just sync back your contacts, notes, pictures etc

Also take into consideration that your current applications are not compatible to 3.0

one more question suddenly appear in my mind, let say if i dont do restore from backup after upgrade, i going to lose all my SMS? any solution for this?

Davidgary,

if i do restore from backup after upgraded to 3.0... it will restore my JB data or not? or is it possible to restore backup for phonebook and sms only?

some updates for 3.0:

- contact and sms still there... smile.gif
- no need to re-download apps
- battery bar is now view as percentage (eg. 100%, 85%)
- skype still working smile.gif

In OS 3.0, apple mentioned 'Auto login WiFi' as a new feature. I believe in older version firmware such as 2.2.1 already had this feature available right? just want to double confirm.

I have a problem with custom ringing tones on OS 3.0

I uploaded 4 different ringing tones into my iphone but dont know why it repeating the same song, same title in the list. Can anyone advise?

Actually i just simply copy and paste to ringing tones from my computer to iphone, (not sync)... probably this is what caused the problem? anyway, i will try the method you mentioned above and see it will solved the problem or not.

Luckily i dont have the issue with the " major" problem, my internet Tethering is enable without doing in it, MMS working automatically too.
