QUOTE(Raki @ Aug 18 2009, 09:32 PM) sry for the misunderstanding There is a long cable. Check the box. It's just behind the place modem is placed. If dun have then maybe they missed it when packaging. QUOTE(karheng @ Aug 18 2009, 10:53 PM) yes, now is slower than before. 0.6Mpbs Is your subscription Discover/Explore? Only Extreme can get 2Mbps and above. it's mean my area are doing the maintenance. Hope they are improving. Normally i can only get 1Mbps ( acceptable ) Never get 2Mbps and above. ![]() My area too is slow. I think this is a network wide maintenance, not isolated to the local district towers. |

explore
but digi said likely average 700kpbs, but theoretical can get up to 3.6Mpbs. I'm also waiting is there other user can reach this speed or not. For me 1Mpbs stable is perfect. 2Mpbs is bonus, 3Mpbs is fantastic! http://www.digi.com.my/broadband/packages_...on_explore.html this is my latest speed. ![]() ![]() Added on August 18, 2009, 11:58 pm QUOTE(IwanAGP @ Aug 18 2009, 10:11 PM) There is a long cable. Lolz E160E only provide extension cable ( male to female ).I got 2 modems, 1 is E160 free by digi, 1 is huawei E220 my own modem. E160 is usb stick, or you may use the extension cable. E220 cable got "2 head" . Tested if pluging 2 head usb together to computer, speed no different. This post has been edited by karheng: Aug 19 2009, 12:00 AM |

QUOTE(karheng @ Aug 18 2009, 11:31 PM) explore Hmm.. sounds very very misleading. The 3.6Mbps theoretical speed is actually the maximum capable speed of the E160E USB modem. But the service is capped at 1Mbps. How we know its 1Mbps? Thats because this is the market expectation paying at such a price point. But Digi quote likely average speed which is 700kbps. That was the common understanding discussed and established over here few weeks ago. Discover and Explore users only capable to a maximum download speed of 1Mbps. Extreme users 2Mbps and up.but digi said likely average 700kpbs, but theoretical can get up to 3.6Mpbs. I'm also waiting is there other user can reach this speed or not. For me 1Mpbs stable is perfect. 2Mpbs is bonus, 3Mpbs is fantastic! http://www.digi.com.my/broadband/packages_...on_explore.html this is my latest speed. ![]() ![]() Unless, Digi has expanded their service to allow Discover/Explore users to 3.6Mbps maximum then its a different story. That will put Digi on the same competitive advantage with Celcom and Maxis. Celcom and Maxis allow their users up to 3.6Mbps also... but that depends on the time of the day and location. So until Digi representatives here explain.. the 3.6Mbps theoretical speed can mean anything: Maximum speed capable by the USB modem or maximum download speed allowed on the internet plan (meaning no longer capped at 1Mbps). OR maybe Digi is trying to justify and explain to curious users who ask why is their USB modem showing the connected speed in Windows XP, Vista, etc 3.6Mbps. This is link speed and is similar to connecting to LAN ethernet network where it will report 10/100/1000Mbps but ultimate the speed depends on the downlink from Digi. Basically going back to our internet subscription plan. So these are the current situation. |
