I believe that if the data is constantly downloaded at a decent speed without any hiccups then it will be smooth.

RM158 just for 10GB is way too expensive IMHO. I guess DiGi needs to squeeze out subscribers because they need to cover back their 3G infrastructure costs which will soon be obsolete.

When TM launches HSBB and Wimax goes mainstream with over 10mbps, then maybe they'll lower the cost.

DiGi will not be able to pull off a nationwide full broadband backbone with the economic situation. It they want to give 10mbps or more HSDPA to major cities they need to pump enough bandwidth to their transmission towers.

They don't have a nationwide fiber links like TM and it costs a bomb to lay them now. The only option for them is rent from others.

hmm im very confused now for the packages they offer. the Extreme package has 20gb but the d/l speed is only 2mb, and the Explore package d/l speed is 3.6mpbs but only 10gb quota?? wtf?

btw which package did u subscribe to and get that kind of speed? if i get the extreme package will i able to d/l that fast or near that speed?

speed limit have for discover and explore = 700kbps/200kbps

RM138 is not bad wah, if you have a choice which 1 do you pick?

a-a telco with 3.6mbps at rm98 but speed always slow and claim that they are no1 broadband in Malaysia or
b-a telco with average speed of 700kbps/200kbps stable connection, would be faster at off peak hours with minimum rm58 to max RM138

even my streamyx 1mbps package has a lower average speed of digi broadband.

while discover & explore will maintain their speed but have to pay more loh....

speed sucks at Aeon Bukit tinggi where they having their roadshow, loading the coverage map takes forever when checking for my home got what speed coverage.

Too bad I been tied With P1 WIMAX for another 9 months.

After this , I sure will go terminate P1 Wimax and go for Digi 3G broadband.

Nowaday, P1 Wimax getting bad by day to day. Always disconnect even plenty of complain.

It makes no difference. There's just something wrong with the download speed back here in my house. The nice speeds I posted before this was tested in Sunway Pyramid.

I am considering switching from streamyx to DiGi but couple of questions hopefully current Digi broadband subscribers can answer:

1. What IP address are you being assinged? Public or Private?

2. I am looking at Extreme Plan RM188 but what does it mean "Max Capped at RM188", does that mean unlimited data and no slow-down?

There might be quite a few early adopters in your housing area already hogging the base station  there thus the slow speed or the uplink to the BTS is having some issues.

Sugen,

Do a reverse traceroute or traceroute with other isps to one of the nodes. Then a whois search on all the hops.

If it's through Time, you'll see the information containing Time contact/address.

But if TdC leases their fiber to DiGi with all the servers/switches owned by them, you won't find any information that links it with Time because all the ip blocks belongs to DiGi including its IX gateway.

Some of the ip blocks have not been registered with APNIC yet therefore you'll see that they're still anon.

Here's a morning speedtest with the Extreme plan. I already lodged a report to DiGi and they too say that it shouldn't be like this as I'm within high speed range. There's probably some technical issues in my area since I am able to get 3mbps in Sunway.

There's no minimum subscription period but if you were to take the modem from DiGi and if you terminate it before 12 months, you'll have to pay the remaining balance for the modem.

It is nice that DiGi's customer service called me to check on my report status. According to that staff, there were DiGi staffs that came in front of my house and test the connection as I reported to them that I am able to get only 380kbps on average.

However, i was stating about my current dilemma. hehe.
Currently i am under the xplore package with the 50% modem off ( the old promo)  Tee hee.

Someone says here, that i might be able to upgrade ( by calling CS - see post #1465) to the new promo, provided that i agree for an extended 12-month tenure. That means additional 12 months = 24months.

My current package is that, of course i can cancel anytime but i have to pay back the remaining price of the modem times the remaining months within the 12 months.

Err, let say i migrate to new promo.. get a modem free.  After a year, let say i decide to change to other plan or cancel, so, digi will charge me on what basis? hmmmm   It cant be the remaining modem, since the 12 months is up.  Probably charges for not continuing the additional 12 more months? Ahaaa..???

Maybe i should call CS.. lol.   But i dont wont to be tied up for 2 years.  Moreover, at rm180(50%) for that modem is a bargain since i dont have a usb modem.  But of course free modem is even a better bargain. lol.

Didn't notice that there's a simultaneous download issue myself, but I wonder that would conjure up a theory that that's their strategy to prevent BT leechers bogging down their network

Could any of you open these three blogs simultaneosly, i am just checking the speed and stability of DGBB

Try to see untill all are done; by seeing number of comments. If you still see 0 comments, it means the blogs havent fully finished downloading. Once all are done, see if they are any missing links like pixs, text or anything.

Then last, just try open my blog (yeah the RestnRileks, not promoting ya..) without any other webpages, blogs or what so ever running. Wait till the comments are not showing 0. Does the whole widgets and everything is okay. Or any missing links too?

Basically, mine is medium, pupu is the lightest while Mariuca is the heaviest.

See it you could get all of them opened completely.

Someone has the same problem opening these 3 blogs(spontaneous) completely on DGBB but not on Streamyx.  I dont have problem opening them using CBP.
