Q15.  What is the usage limit for these broadband packages?
A15.  -  The Discover package comes with a data quota/usage limit of 3GB. Usage beyond 3GB will be charged at 15sen/10MB and will be capped at a maximum of RM138/month.
      -  The Explore package comes with a data quota/usage limit of 10GB. Usage beyond 10GB will be charged at 5sen/10MB and will be capped at a maximum of RM138/month.
      -  The Extreme package comes with a data quota/usage limit of 20GB. Usage beyond 20GB will be free although the speed will be throttled to 128kbps.
Q16.  And what happens after I’ve reach the maximum capped amount…?
A16.  My, my You will still be able to access the internet but your broadband connection will be throttled to a lower speed of 128kbps for all 3 packages.
So, i think is for discover package is that after u use 3GB, digi will charge u 15sen per 10MB u use and will keep charging u until ur digi bb monthly bill is RM138 (something like their PAYU/"pay as u use " in their gprs/edge. Same goes to discover but with a 10GB quota and 5sen per extra 10MB. u are given a month quota and is charge for over ur quota until a certain amount and than u dont need to pay any further for that month. But sadly for digi BB, their will throttl u to 128kbps after u reach the max payment... wth .... thats slower than edge

let say u subscribe rm105 per month for 10GB so beyond 10GB Digi will charge u 0.10sen per 10mb until u reach RM138, Digi will throttle your speed at 128kbs..

so your max bill per month is rm138

I tried and it was fine but I'd still prefer a wired broadband though. If you don't mind a slightly higher latency then by all means you can go for this.

Nope..

When Shinjite said "I didn't even come across even 1 hitting higher than 1.1mbps and above", it simply meant we couldnt get speed such as 2-3mbps.  Only extreme and those on pre-launch package do have the privilege.

Of course we are able to download at 700kbps since our constant download is 1mbps = 1000kbps.  We just state that for Discover and Explore, seldom do we get higher than 1100kbps.
What does this mean? This means great    since Digi advertises its average speed is 700kbps for both packages, but in reality, i am having a constant 1mbps.

for me i'm a bit more technical. i differentiate

3G router - router only, cannot insert SIM card, must use with a separate 3G modem, such as plugging in the USB modem, normally cost <RM400
models include Aztech HW831 http://www.aztech.com/my/3g_hw831.html, or CWR- 635M http://www.cnet.com.tw/product/cwr-635m.html

check the specs for these because for this 2 model, i see from the website only support 3.6mpbs, so i think the transfer rate from the usb model to the 3g router is around this speed. not sure how much it is in real life. but then it's ok to use if you don't subscribe to the more expensive 7.2mbps package

3G modem router - has router and modem built in, more than RM500
models include T-MOBILE WEB 'N' WALK BOX II, Huawei E960
@pennyzai - i think these are the types of 3g modem+router the digi shops are selling, as most of these can support 7.2mbps

i mean.. these are some of the result of my internet research at the moment and haven't gone out to the "streets" to find out what is available on the shop. wanting to share my wireless broadband but feel the equipment is very expensive for my budget.

i don't think so... try lowering ur global max connection to 20 only in ur torrent client. Any higher and I can't surf, high loss packet, slow down etc

the modem cant handle that many connection. beside that eventhough only 20 connection, i still get max speed (1mbps) even with a low seed torrent file. and establish connection with peer very fast if compare to streamyx.

if i using digi bb for 2week,i would like to terminate can i get back advance payment from digi?

I think maybe they participate in PC fair , so need to up their coverage there to compete further with other competitors. hohoho..

haha..I think my friend got conned la..he said..one of the digi staff at pc fair said that the fup for rm88 promo package is unlimited (no 10 GB limit) for those who sign up during the pc fair..we test the connection then and it is quite terrible..because our area (desa melawati) only covered by edge....lucky me not subscribe yet..

Did signed up too..haih..but the connection is very slow..hope my workplace got 3G coverage..

Wanna ask..is connection speed average (100Kbps ~ 250Kbps) sufficient enough to connect the Yahoo Messenger or any other chat client?..mine cannot connect..always fail and ask to retry..even my gtalk cannot connect..is it connection or the client itself problem?..

Are you within the coverage area? Check on their website http://www.digi.com.my/broadband

If you are in EDGE you should be able to get around 150kbps average which still allows you to go on MSN and Yahoo Messenger.

Try to sit near an open place or near the window to get better coverage. 2nd floor of the house should be better.
