I believe DiGi has made it clear on its T&C, nobody will blame it. Just that I am curious if there is any way to stop it at RM 58.00. hmm.gif

I think some guy introduced an utility that keep track on your usage and then will disconnect once that limit has been reached. I forgot what is the name of the app.

So far, we can only keep track on our usage by looking at the statistics within the DiGi dashboard manager. However, if we use that DiGi broadband on different PC, then we will have a tough time finding our total usage. I was concern when DiGi's OCS did not have a centralized statistics that keep track of usage from DiGi's side. Wouldn't it be better?

Hmm... based on what you said, probably my modem isn't Class 10 and less competent with proper EDGE modems/phones. I using Digi's modem here, the Huawei E219.  hmm.gif
*
The modem is okay. I was getting edge service with full bar and full edge speed just now.

Well, finally get myself the Digi BB Package. Though wasnt smooth. As i about to register with DGBB at Berjaya.. Kapoww! it showed that i had unfinished business with Celcom. tongue.gif So, there i went. Ran from Berjaya quickly to Celcom Center at Kg. Bharu, settled and made my payment of rm220 (this was my first celcom d68 2 years ago that i only used for one month, but then was too lazy to cancel and finally the billed added up to rm220.. Yeah my mistake) Asked the Celcom CS to issue a clearance letter too.

Brought back the letter to Digi Berjaya, showed them my payment. They checked, and later registered. Subscribe the explore package with modem. Well rm15 extra plus 12 = rm180, still cheap compared to buying bulk in garage sale. Moreover, i dont have a modem and i need one.

Ohh, earlier, the digi dealer wouldnt allow me to subscribe knowing my place wasnt covered. Then, i assured her yeah i knew all the risks. She was like looking at me with that "you r funny.." kind of look. Then she asked me if if would be using desktop or lappy, and i said lappy. Quickly she replied.. "ohh well, come over here.." lol She was nice though.

Anyway, took 2 hours for ur card to be activated. Done my at 5.00pm, and activated at 6.45pm. Insert in my N82, whoaho! saw that 3g. Glimpse again, saw only E sad.gif

Then put on the digi modem.. still showing 2 bars of hsdpa. Suddenly Poop full bar of Edge.. arrghhh.. Played with the settings.. force the to only accept WDCMA not "WDCMA Preferred"

Whoahoa!! received 2 bars of HSDPA, later 3 bars of HSDPA and now back to 1 bar. Though one bar, not at the expense of speed.

The only thing i dont like is, modem gets too hot, since i am not in air-conditioned room. Luckily i have a stand fan next to me.

Opps sorry ya, such a long post.

Yeah, the modem is a little hot to touch when its connected on WCDMA/HSDPA. When connected to EDGE its not as warm though. But I think thats alright since all USB modems are warm after operating awhile. However, the E230 (modem for Extreme plan) doesn't seem to be hot when I tested few weeks ago. I was testing the connection for a full 20 minutes and the modem was just luke warm. I like the E230 a lot due to its compact size but too bad, I don't think paying RM188/month realistic for a regular user like me.

with the fan next to me on.. the modem stays warm. smile.gif

I am getting back my 4 bar of hsdpa. It was because of weather condition (thought it was going to rain just now).

I cant afford to pay more than rm130 per month for internet connection. Explore will do just fine as my weekly internet consumption is roughly around 1.2-1.3gb. Cancelled my Digi Unlimited Edge. smile.gif

Anyway, thanks ya everybody, otherwise, i might still be waiting for the coverage map to cover my house. smile.gif

at max of rm138 with 0.05sen per 10mb = thus, rm138 is another extra 6gb?
50sen = 100mb
5.00=1gb
30=6gb..

not bad.. smile.gif

Yeah, its really not bad. A lot of room for us light surfers who are not heavy on downloading. My downloading habits is only once in awhile so 10GB is really a lot for me. Probably those who are always downloading large files (you know who you are tongue.gif ), the 10GB will be quite limited for them.

If no or minimal download is done, I can barely even hit 3GB just by surfing the web. biggrin.gif

bro pls recalculate~...
(cut)
Time taken to download 3GB of stuff = 25769,803,776 / 716,800 = 35,951 seconds
35,951 sec = 10 hours

huhu yup.. you the 10hours correct
*
using celcom HSDPA
100mb = 10 minute
1000mb = 100 minute
3000mb = 300 minute @ around 5 hours

700kbps is average speed unless digi cap max speed at 700kbps only.

Good news.

'lite' with own modem = rm53
'medium' with own modem = rm98

1Byte = 8bit
1kB = 8,192bit
1MB = 8,338,608bit
1GB = 8,589,934,592bit
3GB = 25,769,803,776bit

Average download rate 700 kbps = 716,800 bit/sec

Time taken to download 3GB of stuff = 25769,803,776 / 716,800 = 35,951 seconds
35,951 sec = 10 hours

huhu yup.. you the 10hours correct

One day use 12hrs (sleep/eat/drink 12hrs)
One month use 372hrs

10hrs can download 3GB (ave dl speed 700kbps)
372hrs can download 111.6GB

After 3GB charges would be 15cents per 10MB
1MB = 1.5 cents
1GB = RM15.36

First 3GB cost RM58
Next (111.60-3)@RM15.36 = RM1,668.10
Total cost in a month = RM1,726.10 ohmy.gif shocking.gif

Lucky cap at RM138 sweat.gif sweat.gif

haha, yeahhh i wonder why too. lol

in my case, at least i want to know, how much that extra rm138 will cost me in terms of data.

sorry, another calculations. biggrin.gif

I guess 200mb per day x 30 = 6gb. saturday n sunday - double time additional 200mbx 8 days in a month. 1.6gb. Still have another 2.4gb (great, now i can have these extra gigs to play around)

Yes it really is! rclxm9.gif

I don't need super high speed, all I need is a consistent transfer rate and not some once in a blue moon performance.
