Excuse me. I believe you have forgotten the term of mobility. Do you think we use wireless broadband only when we go out?
I'm a wireless broadband user and I'm always seen travelling around. So, don't you think wireless broadband comes in handy in this case? Can you bring your Streamyx anywhere yo travel to?
Please look before you leap, think before you speak.

I think you're right. Mobility is what these Mobile Broadband players are offering and they are really hitting on TM to areas where they can't compete. Perhaps that is why recently TM had to bundled in the Celcom Broadband 384k to a Streamyx 1Mbps plan. Also if you add in RM15, you get TM Hotspots (WIFI) too! They really acknowledge these shortcomings and come out with such a plan.

In the market, we have many kinds of consumer and usually the internet subscribers are pretty sophisticated and go into the net whenever they have an opportunity. Of course we do have other kind of consumers, the ones who are not addicted to the internet and such and such.

Is the Maxis/Celcom 3G coverage as wide as EDGE coverage?
*
no...wht im trying to say is, 3G coverage is already available in major cities, small towns, highlighted/hot places (uni/college/industrial/highway/tourism etc) across da country...while EDGE is evrywhere mins it could b even along da way of small roads ...

Not worth to subscribe to DiGi Broadband just to wait for your area to be covered since you will also be abide to the Fair Usage Policy. Just keep your current one for now and enjoy a true unlimited Internet connection. smile.gif

I got a question for you guys to solve out..Perhaps u are willing to help..haha
Ok.. my data unlimted (EDGE) contract v DG will expire soon in June.. So, i am in doubt now to weather
1. To sign for DG 3G broadband RM 58 or
2. To continue the EDGE data unlimited plan...

But, my area is still not cover by DG3G broadband.. If i sign for this, then my speed will be EDGE speed.. If this is true, then must well i continue the EDGE plan... But, i want faster speed.. Even if i would cross over to Maxis/Celcom, then it raises another concern...
a.Maxis/Celcom 3G coverage is not as wide as EDGE.. Which mean that most the time when i am traveling.. I got GPRS speed.. Hai yo... very headache.. Your advice & opinion is needed.. TQ

P/S: FYI, i had with EDGE unlimited plan for the past 2 YEARS.. From the Bill, my GPRS/EDGE data never exceed 3GB usage.I am from PG,my friend who work in DG said they will do a roadshow for the 3G broadband roll out for PG in May. And he will borrow me his 3G broadband SIM for me to test in my house.. rclxms.gif  rclxms.gif

I think you better stick to your DiGi EDGE. Though you are paying more but just RM 8.00 extra, you won't be tied to any limited fair usage policy. DiGi's cheapest 3G package is RM 58.00 but with 3GB only. Not sufficient, I must say. smile.gif
Unless your area is covered with DiGi 3G, else DiGi EDGE is a better alternative. smile.gif

I'm aware of TM's Hotspots but only at selected places, mostly at cafe and fast food outlets.

Not only that wireless broadband is also the only choice for people from new residential areas whereby telephone line is not available for them yet. Hence, wired broadband may sound impossible to these people.
Of course, if you have a telephone line, I'll always suggest Streamyx because honestly speaking it is the best among the worst providers. smile.gif

Just remember that if you are planning to subscribe it when your area isn't covered, just stick with your DiGi EDGE first as it is better without the Fair Usage Policy. smile.gif

Yeah, Streamyx is still the only choice. In fact, we don't have a choice at all if we want broadband at an affordable price (service quality aside).

In reality, there isn't any service which has both affordable price and quality together. From what I see, wireless broadband services are becoming more competitive these days but with the Fair Usage Policy, it is a major setback to most people.

yups...even worst than us...but what makes a difren is the network speed/quality itself...well, all of us got FUP but our broadband speed here in ms'ia is lower than most of the country that implement da FUP...that's da main prob that cause da dissatisfaction... sweat.gif

Any other DiGi Broadband subscribers been facing random web pages not loading and having to refresh several times to load a page?

Download and upload speeds are at normal full speed.

I've been having this problem for more than a week now and was wondering whether it's just me...

Its probably due to the limited number of connections that the modem can support, probably you can try increasing ur TCP/IP open half connections

As I've experienced, if I were to do some utorrenting, I will have trouble surfing the net or even logging into MSN

I have been suffering for 3 weeks oredi.

Have you lodge a complain to their customer service?

How to increase TCP/IP open half connections? I'm only getting less than 20kbs for downloads. Is this an issue with utorrent client?

Yes, I reported the problem here few days ago. But as you continue to use it the issue will settle down. I found out that after you downloading something substantial then the surfing experience will smoothen. I know its very weird, perhaps our friend said it right. Could be the number of ports permitted.

As for me, I would disconnect and reconnect again. Then problem will go away. It is only the first few minutes of usage that is problematic.

Same here if I were to start multiple downloads simultaneously using FlashGet. As long as there are too many connections being made, there will be a 'traffic jam'.
