actually i didn't subscribe to maxis broadband because there was a very low cap.  if you visit their website, it states:
To allow all our users to enjoy quality browsing experience, Maxis will not assure constant connectivity if you use peer-to-peer or file sharing software. You may use
up to 3GB of data volume per month. If you exceed this, Maxis reserves the right to throttle your speed and for very excessive usage, to cap your usage.
can any user confirm this?
*
here the answer
Maxis Suspend our account if over limit?

the big problem is broadband connection will be throttled to 64kbps when the quota 10GB is breached.

come on digi spy. smaller u-mobile can offer better than 64kbps 'broadband'. RM49 P1 for 400kbps faster than rm158 digi 3g.

DiGi will not be able to pull off a nationwide full broadband backbone with the economic situation. It they want to give 10mbps or more HSDPA to major cities they need to pump enough bandwidth to their transmission towers.

They don't have a nationwide fiber links like TM and it costs a bomb to lay them now. The only option for them is rent from others.
*
digi rent timedotcom fiber.
digi lease 3G license for 10 years.

DiGi siau what so ever...even in my place "GSM" service they can't reach one bar...My mother's cellphone always in "Emergency call only" mode.....do i need that 3G service with extreme expensive package....nah!!!! if i subscribe there must be gprs only connction or no connection at all....
Tommorow i want to change my mother cellphone operator to Maxis......
*
u get it wrong. 3G and GSM (GPRS/EDGE) using different network. Like celcom; digi will install 3G transmitter in town/pekan area not kampung tower.

I have test cecom 3G can go more than 6km. Digi 3G signal must better than celcom.

bro pls recalculate~...
(cut)
Time taken to download 3GB of stuff = 25769,803,776 / 716,800 = 35,951 seconds
35,951 sec = 10 hours

huhu yup.. you the 10hours correct
*
using celcom HSDPA
100mb = 10 minute
1000mb = 100 minute
3000mb = 300 minute @ around 5 hours

700kbps is average speed unless digi cap max speed at 700kbps only.

Good news.

'lite' with own modem = rm53
'medium' with own modem = rm98

the truth with digi broadband is it is not affordable, more expensive. so think carefully before subscribe. but if wanna blame it is Streamyx fault---> overpriced for an ancient speed.
*
digi pay rm700 milion for 3G license. rent for 10 years.
digi teach 3g partner how to run business
digi rent 3g partner fibre optic cable

Soon this thread will be moved to its own dedicated sub-forum: http://forum.lowyat.net/DiGiBroadband

Yes, DiGi Broadband has sponsored LYN for that specific sub-forum. DiGi will have their representatives to answer to your queries on that sub-forum. thumbup.gif

That's so far the information I got from the higher authority. smile.gif

Actually the problem is windows driver problem. However because Digi give this modem then this problem become Digi problem.

Digi must ask Huawei to change another model or offer another brand like local made CSL or ever better Sierra modem.
