QUOTE(yongkailoon @ Mar 27 2009, 02:21 AM) Wow, super speed! If to download a 700MB file, it only needs less than 10 minutes. I think there is no other ISP in Malaysia that can provide such good speed. This post has been edited by fruitie: Mar 27 2009, 03:01 AM |

QUOTE(MRVX @ Apr 18 2009, 11:54 AM) Digi is Israel company, dont believe them, they have many trick like celcom or more than, all capping problem will not be stopped, that is their tactic in business... What kind of assumption is this? Please at least state some proof for your claim.I was a user of Celcom broadband for more than a year and gave up on it. Why? Endless maintenance and fake promises. Oh ya, the petty 5GB fair usage policy too. Yes, I know DiGi broadband has too but at least they are providing promised speed, not like Celcom. D98 but can get dial up speed, I got before and I hadn't exceeded 5GB fair usage policy yet that time. I'm not a DiGi 3G broadband user just for your information, so don't think that my post is biased. Anyway, I'm a DiGi EDGE user and though it is slower than Celcom broadband but trust me the stability is something Celcom broadband lack about. Oh ya, for DiGi EDGE it has no fair usage policy at all, not even stated in one of the clauses (Proof: http://www.digi.com.my/data_services/gprs/...gprs_mb_tnc.do). I have downloaded more than 10GB this month and still kicking very good. I have read there is a forummer here has downloaded more than 64GB/month on DiGi EDGE as it is not capped. It is confirmed! I got my internship placement at Nokia-Siemens.
So, will start my work in June in PJ SS16 and I'll be staying somewhere around 1Utama or else SS17, are these two areas covered? Sorry, I'm new to PJ. If yes, might consider trying DiGi 3G but I can afford 3GB package only... |

QUOTE(talrasha @ Apr 20 2009, 07:20 PM) still waiting for Digi broadband to reach my place in Tmn maluri. Darn it, short of 100-300meters to my house. Other parts of taman maluri is covered though.. urggghh.. but checking on my phone, there is a 3g digi.. all i can do is wait now. If you can see 3G icon on your phone, shouldn't be a problem for you to access right? anyway preducer, i think digi broandband will run fine on online games, though i dont know what kind of games though. I play Left 4 Dead(FPS) and occasionally TF2 on celcom 3g (384kbps with 200+ms), runs fine too except with few minor hiccups here and there especially on saturday night. So, i think (just an opinion not fact..huhu), digi broadband probably would do just fine. |

Maybe I am different here. I had slow loading Facebook page on Celcom broadband D98 but have faster loading page on DiGi EDGE.
Well, maybe that time Celcom was having maintenance problem, you know they have endless of maintenance. Anyway, I'm happy for my DiGi EDGE. Wanna try out DiGi 3G when I'll be in PJ area in June but I cannot only afford the cheapest package but with 3GB FUP. Oh well, maybe I'll just stick with DiGi EDGE since I'm a D' Campus subscriber and I only pay RM 25/month for unlimited DiGi EDGE. This post has been edited by fruitie: Apr 23 2009, 12:47 PM |

After RM138, throttled to EDGE speeds |

Just that I am curious if there is any way to stop it at RM 58.00. |

QUOTE(eugene90 @ Apr 26 2009, 10:52 AM) at home? Excuse me. I believe you have forgotten the term of mobility. Do you think we use wireless broadband only when we go out?just buy a wireless router la, enjoy 1.5mbps stable connection from streamyx... unlimited usage.. haha go out? no need online la, so addicted to internet mea? sorry for stirring ..:> I'm a wireless broadband user and I'm always seen travelling around. So, don't you think wireless broadband comes in handy in this case? Can you bring your Streamyx anywhere yo travel to? Please look before you leap, think before you speak. QUOTE(sugen @ Apr 26 2009, 04:56 PM) I got a question for you guys to solve out..Perhaps u are willing to help..haha I think you better stick to your DiGi EDGE. Though you are paying more but just RM 8.00 extra, you won't be tied to any limited fair usage policy. DiGi's cheapest 3G package is RM 58.00 but with 3GB only. Not sufficient, I must say. Ok.. my data unlimted (EDGE) contract v DG will expire soon in June.. So, i am in doubt now to weather 1. To sign for DG 3G broadband RM 58 or 2. To continue the EDGE data unlimited plan... But, my area is still not cover by DG3G broadband.. If i sign for this, then my speed will be EDGE speed.. If this is true, then must well i continue the EDGE plan... But, i want faster speed.. Even if i would cross over to Maxis/Celcom, then it raises another concern... a.Maxis/Celcom 3G coverage is not as wide as EDGE.. Which mean that most the time when i am traveling.. I got GPRS speed.. Hai yo... very headache.. Your advice & opinion is needed.. TQ P/S: FYI, i had with EDGE unlimited plan for the past 2 YEARS.. From the Bill, my GPRS/EDGE data never exceed 3GB usage.I am from PG,my friend who work in DG said they will do a roadshow for the 3G broadband roll out for PG in May. And he will borrow me his 3G broadband SIM for me to test in my house.. Unless your area is covered with DiGi 3G, else DiGi EDGE is a better alternative. QUOTE(davidmak @ Apr 26 2009, 07:11 PM) I think you're right. Mobility is what these Mobile Broadband players are offering and they are really hitting on TM to areas where they can't compete. Perhaps that is why recently TM had to bundled in the Celcom Broadband 384k to a Streamyx 1Mbps plan. Also if you add in RM15, you get TM Hotspots (WIFI) too! They really acknowledge these shortcomings and come out with such a plan. I'm aware of TM's Hotspots but only at selected places, mostly at cafe and fast food outlets. In the market, we have many kinds of consumer and usually the internet subscribers are pretty sophisticated and go into the net whenever they have an opportunity. Of course we do have other kind of consumers, the ones who are not addicted to the internet and such and such. Not only that wireless broadband is also the only choice for people from new residential areas whereby telephone line is not available for them yet. Hence, wired broadband may sound impossible to these people. Of course, if you have a telephone line, I'll always suggest Streamyx because honestly speaking it is the best among the worst providers. |

QUOTE(sugen @ Apr 27 2009, 12:14 AM) The fair usage policy.. Is it only happend in a Malaysia boleh country? Do u come across to know any others country's (US,Uk, Singapore,etc..)wireless broadband provider having this policy? Yes, everywhere in the world.Even wired broadband has too. QUOTE(talrasha @ Apr 28 2009, 11:32 PM) hows digi doing so far? I believe this has to do with the upload speed. The not-so-smooth connection still persists? I am having it today.. urgghh. Quite annoying to keep refreshing the page, and yet, i am not on 3 web pages running simultaneously at all. The page still loads fast, but the repetitive clicking (refreshing) n incomplete web page are annoying. Haha, i am preparing back my CBP just in case digi is having hiccups. I am just going to see how things are over the next few days. Probably is the rapid expansion that causes the problem. Have you filed a case for this? |
