this is what i understand;

monthly fee > lets just take rm100 as a figure (my bigpond connection is slow at the moment).
maximum usage (quota/usage)> rm138
total > rm100 + rm138 = rm238
speed throttle once monthly quota reached so meaning the excess usage will be at 128kbps only.

let say u subscribe rm105 per month for 10GB so beyond 10GB Digi will charge u 0.10sen per 10mb until u reach RM138, Digi will throttle your speed at 128kbs..

so your max bill per month is rm138

Hmm..there's a lot of confusion here. Please help to clarify what I state below. Thanks.

1. Discover package (RM58 - 3GB cap)
- After exceeding 3GB, you will be charged RM0.15/10MB
- After exceeding 3GB, your speed will be throttled to ???
- Max per month is RM138 no matter how much you download.

2. Explore package (RM108 - 10GB cap)
- After exceeding 10GB, you will be charged RM0.05/10MB
- After exceeding 10GB, your speed will be throttled to ???
- Max per month is RM138 no matter how much you download.

3. Extreme package (RM188 - 20GB cap)
- After exceeding 20GB, your speed will be throttled to ???
- Max per month is RM188 no matter how much you download.

If I remember correctly, Plan Discover and Explore only gets throttled once you hit maximum chargeable price of RM138. After exceeding 10GB you can continue to use at full speed but you will be paying at different rates for every 10MB. You're still paying mah so how can they throttle you. You only get throttled once you hit the maximum chargeable price.

Digi's price structure is more progressive and it suits many different type of users. Some use more some use less. So you pay progressively also. This is better than charging a fixed price and give you a monthly data budget and then throttled you once you hit that limit. If you work out the calculation, you will realize that the Digi's price is actually near other service provider's price. Just that their base price is very attractive. Once you include those progressive fees... it'll add up.

By the way, I registered for mine this evening. Explore package. Only required to pay RM100 up front (no more as indicated by Digi Broadband website). No need auto-billing, etc requirements. Also the modem price is 50% also (was told it is a promotion starting today). Digi said you can pay full amount for modem (RM15x12months or RM25x12months, after 50% price reduction). Can swap plans on the go. Explore can go Discover and vice versa. Cannot go Extreme.

Speed is decent and was maxed at 1Mbps/384kbps. I believe it can go higher (cause it was consistent 1Mbps) but should be capped due to my plan. However, inside house reception is very bad. Cannot get HSPDA all the time. Need to find a nice spot. Once step out, signal is very very clear and you'll see the resultant speed as well.

Yes i do.. I got disconnect randomly. Played online games a lot. So occasionally the line drop. Just like lost of packets. Have to reconnect again to network. Wonder y.. I guess its pretty normal for wireless or 3G.

According to the Digi specialist who attended to me, he said there'll be stamp duty on the first billing (RM10). I asked him if I use auto-billing will there be any deductions from the monthly bill and he said there will be no such thing for Digi broadband service.

By the way, are Digi Broadband subscribers given any online account like OCS where we can check out billing and usages online? Anyone guys?

Same here. I get disconnected from Live Messenger and browser loosing connection even though the Digi/Huawei Dashboard did not record any disconnection. I think an IP is refreshed but it was made transparent to the user.

Can anyone help provide a link where I can download Huawei's latest dashboard? Maybe it can provide better stability on connections? Just a guess.

i understand from my friend who has subscribe that yes, you actually must use OCS since e-billing is default. i went to OCS page just to check just now and there is a link for broadband user too.

Yup confirmed with customer service. New subscribers need to wait 3 days for the processing of their profile to complete. Then only we are able to register. Don't know whether this is true... but I haven't tried registering yet. I attempted yesterday evening but was rejected. Service is already available though. I'm happy that they can activate my connection in just 15-30 minutes just like subscribing to a voice plan.

Yeah very confusing. Some say yes some say no. I think can find out about the billing date via OCS. Or maybe call their support line.
